I don't know if its the coverages or whatever but the chemistry between Free and M.W. just isnt the same as last year.  They just arent on the same page yet.  I hope it starts clicking soon cause late last year they were a huge force for our team.

It's all part of a plan. Later on in the season when our opponents forget about him, the Bucs will turn him loose on them. Right now they focus on him ;). The Bucs set a new team yardage record Monday night for the offense. Does it really matter who is catching the ball or running with it? The pattern of this team has been solid improvement from the beginning of the season to the end. They're 3-1 after the first quarter. They will be fine.

It's game planning.  Coaches have a full season of game tape and now it's up to Freeman, Williams, and Olson to make an adjustment.

Williams will get his. I am not really to worried about him. I just think the ball is being spread out a little more with teams keying on Williams more.

He did have 5 catches for 60+. Not stellar numbers but he wasn't invisible.

Few random points....

If Mike has 8 catches for 123 yards and 1 TD this week in San Fran, he'll be equal to where he was at last year after 5 games.

Mike really should have 2 TDs this year, but that awesome circus catch was void due to an illegal motion penalty on Benn.

Mike only went over 100 yards receiving once last year. He has been much more of a redzone TD specialist, than a guy that puts up big numbers yardage wise.

Mike had two fumbles last year at this point. None so far this year!

Teams are playing much softer coverages this year. That Colts scheme was almost a prevent. Making it tough for Freeman and Williams to go downfield.

They will get it together it's early in the season, we had a lockout, and they are slow starters

Where in the world does this come from?  Or am I just missing the sarcasm.

Without Carl Nix it feels like our running game just took a death blow to the face!

Mike Williams is what we thought he is. He is the the Receiver you throw the ball up to in the endzone and he goes up grabs the ball and taps his feet in. He has done that this year when he made a beautiful catch in Minnesota, but was taken back by a dumb penalty. The reason Mike Williams doesn't seem as effective is because our whole offense isn't really clicking just yet, but once they do Williams will return to form.

He had 5 catches last game. We really don't throw him the ball deep as much as we should which is why he doesn't really rack up mutiple 100 yard games. We've played zone defenses the first month of the season and he has been accounted for. A linebacker underneath with a safety over the top most of the time which has allowed Graham and Parker to lead the team in receiving. Keep working the underneath game isn't a bad idea though if I'm trying stop Freeman. Think about it...

Freeman is at his best when he is asked to throw the ball deep. Better completion % rate, tds, ints, etc.....Why would a defensive coordinator LET a QB to play up to his strengths? Take away at what he does best and force him to be a underneath/intermediate guy where he isn't as accurate. (Well from last year)

It's Freeman's fault.   He needs to throw it up to Williams for jump balls.
