For those who don't see why it matters. It matters because the Glazers are always accused of being cheap and not caring. Well this isn't cheap and they obviously care...

They've been CHEAP since '05 (ManU).  Anyone that can't see that is blind.

$49 million spent on players last year (2nd cheapest was $71 million).....

$51 million PROFIT.

Exactly.   These morons defending the Glazers' cheap ways as if it's a way to show they are "good fans" don't know their ass from a hole in the ground.   It benefits Buc fans to complain about the owners not spending as much as possible to field a winner, not defend them for being thrifty.     The more people complain, the more likely they are to spend some money to field a winner.   It took 2 years of blackouts for them to realize they can't have a bargain basement puppet as a head coach.

An "expensive" coach is about equivalent to a Quincy Black salary.    It's not that big a deal.

+1.

...But it sucks when the HC coaches as bad as Black played, then you have to either bite the bullet and fire him, or deal with continuous crap for a few seasons.

I'm really hoping Kelly is as good as his history suggests, otherwise Black being signed that fat contract will remain nothing but a memory.

Naismith was right about Revis. Everyone else is a dummy.

So they're changing their Recent ways....

Okay, let me ask you these questions. Who recently has been worth a big contract on our team? I can't think of many at all... Another question, what makes you think free agents wanted to come to Tampa? Surely not everybody wants to come here. We did offer Haynesworth a big contract a few years ago, but he chose Washington. Why would Sproles choose Tampa over New Orleans? There is a lot of factors in this that people ignore

They absolutely did want to come to Tampa when Gruden was coach.

Not saying that anyone "deserved" the big money-- just saying we CHOSE to field a team of rooks & low budget players/coaches/staff/OneBuc................

Overly Frugal.  Is that better?

Like saying they are "partially pregnant" LMAO.  Cheap is a way of being.  They didn't just find religion.  I half expect you and others to type "Malcolm must be back" LMAO.

I think the people who call them cheap will do so until they go wild in free agency which will never happen.

You've got that right. Garner, Stinchcomb, Dudley and Tim Brown couldn't wait to join Chucky!!

I thought Lovie said he wanted quickness & speed, even at the QB position?

Remember when we worried about getting under the cap? Now we eagerly await 2013 when the Glazerswill be forced to spend enough to reach the cap FLOOR.

But whatever, the new coaching hire trumps this nonsense.

Right, because they are cheap, which is why they overpaid Joseph and Black and Trueblood and are now in negotiations with Nike (lol).  Damn cheap bastards!

Yeah it seems like 2012 will be very calm free agency period again.  Lets hope that is not the case....

....and STILL they were the LOWEST SPENDING TEAM in the NFL-- by a wide margin.

Have been since Man U.

And don't forget, they lost a ton of Jack in the Madoff Ponzi scheme, right?
