Bill Belichick really likes seeing how NFC South teams practice.

That’s the conclusion we’ve drawn from a Boston Herald report that the Patriots are talking to the Buccaneers about holding joint practices this summer. We’ve already heard word that Belichick and Saints interim head coach Joe Vitt were talking about getting their crews together and the Patriots had joint sessions with the Saints and Falcons in 2010.

The message to the Panthers: Don’t call us, we’ll call you.

If the Bucs and Patriots do decide to work together, the days leading up to their preseason game on August 24th would make sense. As Jeff Howe of the Herald notes, the Pats have a short week after a game on August 20th but motivated parties have a way of making such things work out.

Tampa makes a natural choice for the Patriots to practice with over the summer because Belichick and Tampa coach Greg Schiano have enjoyed a close relationship over the years with Belichick offering advice to Schiano as he decided whether or not to take the leap from Rutgers to the NFL. It can be hard to keep such friendships alive as competitors, but it looks like Belichick and Schiano are trying to figure out a way to have a mutually beneficial relationship.

“Before you can be labeled elite, you’ve got to get a lot closer to having rings.”  --Josh Freeman, May 2012

This would be awesome. Could anything bad come from Freeman practicing with Brady?

Always good to hit guys that aren't on your team.

This would only help. Could go a long way in polishing off the last remnants of poor practice habits left over from the previous regime.

Good, we can see Vincent Jackson go off against the Patriots again.

I really like the fact that Schiano is buddy-buddy with the hoodie. Soak it all in, Greg

This is a good thing...

But I'm absolutely certain if someone gets hurt during a scrimmage (and they will)   the whine will increase around here...

Tough reading around here now-a-days.

Who knew how good it would feel as a fan when we now know what it\'s like for our team to have a direction, an attitude, and dare I say an offense?.

Good time to be a Bucs fan.

Wonder if it would be up here or down in Tampa.  I would love to attend a practice.

Yeah.  Manchester NH.  Moved here in 2003 so the wife could be near her family.  They're all patriot fanatics.  I'd probably go with them.  It would be quite dysfunctional.
