Barron isn't living up to the 7th overall pick so playing better than him shouldn't be any thing big. Has Claibornes play been better than Jenkins or Heyward? I'm interested in that.

Heyward - no.  Jenkins - yes.

I have no doubt that both Barron and Claiborne will be better in the coming years.  The larger point is a CB is more valuable than a Safety in the NFL, and that's where the Bucs messed up.  If you pick a Safety in the top 10, he better be the second coming of Ed Reed.  That's going to be tough for Barron to live-up to.

The Barron pick really surprised me and I had Claiborne going to us the whole draft period. With that said we have to live with the pick and hopefully the staff puts some big investment into our Corners.

Exactly - and if he does great.  I just don't see it so far.  Now maybe if he had a couple of NFL CBs on the field with him... it might improve

Sure but there's better rookies than Claiborne. Just at CB I'd rather have Jenkins or Heyward.

Exactly . If you want to question Barron that is fine . It's merited at this point . But don't bring up Claiborne , the guy blows so far .

Unsurprisingly, you're woefully uninformed.  Unlike Barron, Claiborne's play has been much better over the last month.

Not even close . Anti-java claims we win hands down if we had claiborne . Let's see how Claiborne faired when HE faced the Eagles....

"Cowboys rookie CB Morris Claiborne was flagged for five penalties in the Week 10 win over the Eagles.
Opponents are attacking Claiborne and avoiding Brandon Carr. The No. 6 overall pick has been thrown at 39 times this season, giving up 24 catches for 306 yards and four touchdown"

Excellent take...

He is still better than that dumpster fire we have at CB.

WHich one was flagged for five penalties today , like Moron Claiborne was when he faced the Eagles ?

As I said , Barron deserves some criticism , but acting like all problems would be solved if we drafted Claiborne instead is a joke .

No way Mo drops that pick like Gorrer did.   Bucs win.

\\\\\\\"Java, do you understand this a perfect example of why people beg me to suspend or ban you on a daily basis? Are you actually trying to make a point? Seriously what is the reason for even commenting. In fact why do you even bother coming to the boards? What happened to the intelligent poster from years ago?  A real shame. Like the Bucs yesterday, a wasted effort.\\\\\\\"

Claiborne scored a TD the last time he played the Eagles, simpy.

So you are claiming E.J. Biggers would still be the #1 corner if Claiborne was on the team , and Claiborne would be covering Gorrer's man? That says lot about him.

No... I am claiming Mo is better than any Bucs CB.

BTW, Anti-java ...are you also prepared to subtract Lavonte David's 9 tackles and 1 sack , and Doug martin's 128 yards and a TD in order to gain Moron Claiborne's mediocre coverage ? Because you'd be losing that also, on top of Mark Barron.

Still garantee the win ?

DJ, Are you another who thinks those players only could be obtained if the bucs drafted Barron?

Bucs could have had all 3 if they wanted.

COULD they have ?  ....sure.... We also COULD have obtained Tom Brady.....can you prove it , and are the odds as good? The answer the is no.

There's only 1 way we know it happens for sure and for an acceptable price. To assume it all plays out exactly the same if we stay at #5 is ridiculous.

Nope - Brady would break the cap and we aren't having that for sure.  But during the draft the bucs have shown the ability and willingness to move other picks to get where they want to be.  There is no real reason to think the past draft would have not been able to keep the 5th overall, and still obtain Martin and David.  It would have been a matter of price and willingness.

I'm glad Buc's didn't stay at 5th spot..I doubt we would of got both, Martin and David..Maybe the Buc's thought Claiborne was going be there .. who thought Cowboys was gonna move up and get Claiborne..I think when it happen the Buc's try to move down more but couldn't, so they took Barron, " I believe Barron, going be a good player down the road"

Even if the Buc's did in up getting Claiborne,.he wouldn't help out the pass D..with no pass rush..Look at today when Buc's had a pass rush, the secondary look a lot better, but when there wasn't, they got burnt..

I'm all for drafting a CB, but I don't think in the 1st..I rather get a pass rush  DT. someone who can help inside along, with McCoy...

FA next year will be big..I would cut Write and go after 2 CBs..like a Vet. Brent Grimes " i know he is 30 and got hurt, but he still a great player and probably not going to get big top money now, so for a right price, take him away for the falcons"  . and I would love the Buc's to go after one of these players too.. CB Derek Cox or Sean Smith
