McCoy, Bucs have oodles of respect for Peyton Manning

Bucs defensive tackle Gerald McCoy is excited about playing Peyton Manning. How excited?

He interrupted questioning during the start of an interview Wednesday to express his admiration for the Broncos quarterback, whom he considers the best "to ever do it."

"I just can't keep doing this interview without saying, Im really looking forward to this. Its Peyton Manning!''  McCoy said. "I dont care what you all write, but arguably I think hes the best QB to ever do it. Im just being honest. I dont think theres anything wrong with that. If somebody wants to write bad about it, oh well, I dont care.

That guy, its like a dream come true for me, honest. Im not afraid to say it. A lot of people would be, but Im not. Im not going to go in there, star struck like, 'Ah, thats Peyton Manning!' Because Ive met the guy before. But I never played against him. Playing against him, its just like when a basketball player came into the league and they had a chance to play against Michael Jordan, of course they were going to say, 'Thats Michael Jordan over there.'"

McCoy drew criticism several years ago when he expressed similar admiration for Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. McCoy met Manning at the Oklahoma-Texas game his final year with the Sooners when he literally bumped into him on the field during warmups. Manning was there to watch Sooners quarterback Sam Bradford and Texas quarterback Colt McCoy, who were both participants at the Manning Passing Academy. McCoy will be attempting to collide with Manning on purpose Sunday in Denver.

Superior, hes just a superior football player,'' McCoy said. "I mean, you see what happened to Indy when the guy wasnt on the field and then you take doctors saying he may never play again to what hes arguably having an MVP type season. I mean, the guy is a superior football player. Theres nothing more you can say about him.''

McCoy always creams in his pants over Brady and Manning. Someone should remind him he is suppose to be a QB killa....not a QB lover.

\\\\\\\"Java, do you understand this a perfect example of why people beg me to suspend or ban you on a daily basis? Are you actually trying to make a point? Seriously what is the reason for even commenting. In fact why do you even bother coming to the boards? What happened to the intelligent poster from years ago?  A real shame. Like the Bucs yesterday, a wasted effort.\\\\\\\"

Will it be okay if he gets an autograph if we win the game?

Let the hypocrisy begin.

Illuminator is a good poster. He sticks to his guns and makes good points. Some don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t like that.

He's a hall-of-fame stone cold lock. What's the big deal if dude throws admiration his way?
Every player asked by media of any good-great player says the same type of **CENSORED** but because McCoy said it, people jump on him.

"So how do you feel about playing against Peyton Manning this week?"

"How do I put this... I hope everything he loved, loves, cared about, liked, sorta liked, barely knew, saw across the room, breathed on, dies a terrible **CENSORED**ty death 3 times. Because **CENSORED** him that's why. Basically what I'm saying is 9/11, the Holocaust, and Gigli were his fault."

I would prefer a DT that had mutual respect for great QBs like Sapp and Favre had.

When it comes to Brady and Manning, McCoy is more like a little girl at a Justin Beiber concert....and Manning/Brady are like "who the **CENSORED** is this dweeb?"

Wow, that's harsh.  I could forgive the first two, but not Gigli.

Sounds more like he's one of the guys taking Viagra and planning on doing something other than "sacking" that ass.

Agree, I love Gerald but sometimes I wish he had a bit more attitude.
