UPDATED: Despite trailing 21-10 with 8:11 left in the fourth quarter, the Eagles rallied for a stunning, 23-21 win over the Bucs on the game's final play thanks to two TD passes from rookie QB Nick Foles to help Philadelphia snap an eight-game losing streak. The loss tainted the 10-year reunion of Tampa Bay's 2002 Super Bowl team and deals a blow to the Bucs' playoff hopes.

It's fine and dandy stacking your offense with players at the expense of your defense like the Bucs have if you have a QB who takes advantage of that and scores more points than the opponents even given that the opponents are going against a weak D.    Unfortunately, it seems Freeman doesn't have what it takes.    When a QB like Foles outplays Freeman in every way, there is something wrong.   Free is obviously not that "franchise" guy and the team is going to need to build a strong D and just let Free manage games rather than trying to win them.    Let the D win the games once it's built up.   This strategy of stacking the offense is obviously a failure.

You cannot say with certainty that Freeman is not the "franchise" guy.

However, posting these thoughts here where you know they will not be buried by 38 other pages certainly is cute.
