Well, I've seen some real growth from the guys Derek Shelton has been working with for 3+ years now.  That fella is doing a bang-up job.

It's amazing what Myers has done with Wil Myers in such a short period of time.  Of course many of the studs in our current line up came through Durham.   Shame they forgot all that they were taught at the AAA level.   And of course it sucks that such torrid hitters as Loney, Roberts, and Escobar have been ruined by Shelton

Can't make chicken salad out of chicken shlt.  The guys on this roster are not talented major league hitters,  period. A hitting coach can't work miracles.

Wil Myers looks like a good hitter in the minors because he is one of the best hitting prospects in the entire league,  not because of his coach.

What is your point? I was wrong? Ok. You win. I was wrong.

Not so obvious apparently,  considering how many continously try and pin our hitting woes on Shelton,  and not the talent.

What is your point? I was wrong? Ok. You win. I was wrong.

Why does the team even have a hitting coach?  The poor fella has been dealt a losing hand for 3+ years now.  You can't expect any results after that short period of time.

Shelton is doing a fine job.  No need to look at the hitting coach for any criticism.

Found this kind of interesting.  Suppose you could substitute Shelton or any MLB hitting coach's name for Hatcher's

The Angels fired Hatcher last season after starting 16-21, a .432 winning percentage.  At the time, they ranked 13th in the American League in runs, seventh in batting average (.250) and 12th in on-base percentage - and they were shut out eight times this season, the most in the majors at that point.

The Angels went 73-52 after firing Hatcher, a .584 winning percentage.  I suppose that was purely coincidence and his hitters became good overnight.  Not a very good example, Olaf.

They also had 8 winning seasons and a World Series win during his tenure

Just three seasons ago, Hatcher presided over a roster that set several franchise records for hitting and fielded a lineup with nine .300 hitters while the Angels reached the ALCS.

They have started this season 4-10 .... time to fire the hitting coach again

Yes,  he obviously forgot how to coach overnight.

Give Shelton a raise

I'm pretty sure you don't wanna play that game nightly.
