Its exactly the point. Crying about calls does no good. Maybe if they did something early instead having to rally again they wouldn't have needed that call so badly.

What is your point? I was wrong? Ok. You win. I was wrong.

Last time I checked it is a 9 inning, 27 out game.  I'm pretty sure the players and coaches are working to correct the issues they are having with their game and not sitting around bemoaning the crap calls that have gone against them in this early season

Matt Moore, Alex Cobb, and the pen have to throw shut-outs in order for the team to get victories, apparently.

add in Longo/Zobrist making a great defensive play and driving in/scoring a run

Does Maddon play small-ball with this team or not?  If so, he completely blew the ninth.  It's pretty clear the team isn't an offensive juggernaut, so why in the hell is James friggin' Loney swinging away in the ninth inning of a tied game with runners on first and second with no outs?

Piss poor decision from the manager in the ninth, and there really isn't any excuse for it.

Loney has 6 career bunts in 3500+ PA's with only 1 against a RHP.   I guess he is capable of bunting, but he's batting .333 now with runners in scoring position this season and is 3rd on the team in RBI's (albeit we can't hit with runners in scoring position so it isn't saying much).   Letting him hit with the go ahead run in scoring position is far from crazy.  Escobar is on deck with a whopping .118 batting average and Roberts is in the hole.   Our offensive problem isn't Maddon not bunting guys over to 2nd and 3rd.   We couldn't get a guy home from third with no outs earlier in the game.

Exactly , this team simply has no firepower. Bottom Line.

Loney can't hit for shizz.  There was a reason he was available to sign for peanuts.  If he can't bunt, then pinch-hit someone who can.  Expecting James Loney, Yunel Escobar, or Ryan Roberts to hit a 3-run HR is a lose situation for this team.

So is this a small-ball team or not?  If the answer to this question is yes (which we both know it is) then bunting is the right call in that situation.

It's a no-ball team.

Yes that bad, and Longoria has turned into a contact hitter.  They have 4 HOME RUNS as a team.....FOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am still waiting for the enamored national media to pick up on this story, " While they have developed much pitching, they have NEVER developed any players  who can hit at all...........NEVER besides "ole dopehead" but he was a natural.   Longoria was a college player............
