NFL.com's Ian Rapaport reports that the NFL has fined New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady $10,000 for unnecessary roughness in the AFC Championship Game. Brady drew the infraction for an aggressive slide with Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed nearby.

San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore is headed to his first Super Bowl after eight seasons as one of the most underrated players in the entire NFL.


Gore will make a little extra money for reaching the big game, and he'll celebrate that by spending a little extra money on his uniform. As first reported by ESPN, Gore was fined $10,500 by the NFL for wearing his socks too low during the 49ers' victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Sunday's NFC Championship Game.

"When you're playing, you don't think about it," Gore said Wednesday, via The Associated Press. "You're trying to win."

Gore, who rushed for two touchdowns in the 49ers' 28-24 win, said he won't make the same mistake again: "Yeah, I'll be cool. It's all good. I was wrong. Next time, I'll do better."

I think the fines being previously agreed upon and set by NFLPA in the CBA is too hard of a concept for some people to grasp, given the comments I've seen (in other places).

NFL was giving a fine based on what they're able to do, if there wasn't a pre-set amount then Goddell probably would have wanted to Bankrupt Brady (and everyone else that does questionable stuff).

Now back to the regularly scheduled trolling.


Brady was fined less because he only used one leg to kick, while Gore wore his socks down on both legs. We all know two is greater than one, hence the larger fine.

Brady shouldn't be fined for that.   But Gore deserves a fine for the low socks.
