As I said if you draft Allen, which I'm not against, you need to do it for him to be the #1 receiver in 2-3 years.

1. We saw in 2011 the NFL figured out how to neutralize MW as a #1 WR and Vincent Jackson is already 30 years old. By 2014-2015, needing a #1 WR might not be a self-created hole. It might happen all on its own. 2. The 1st round is all about getting a 10-year player with the ability to make a few Pro Bowls. You can't choose which position. There's only a few of those players available each year. If Allen ends up being a Roddy White caliber player the Bucs absolutely need to investigate him.
2 - if we cant find a player graded as high as this WR at #13...just wow. maybe im biased on roddy white, but i could pass on that guy. he's a numbers guy, like dwyane bowe to me. i get your point though.

My statement was based on a legitimate scenario where as one or even both missed any time. What you quoted was specifically refering to the question of, what would happen with this offense if it suffered a situation similar to Green Bay where they had Driver, Jennings, and Nelson all miss a bunch of games. This team might get shut out every game. If those 4 QB's were our guy here, while they have the ability to elevate the play of those around them... where Freeman does not, they probably wouldn't do much better, though they would do better. Now, if this corp (outside of Jackson and Williams), were on those other teams with their coaches and QB's, I think they'd at least be serviceable.
A 3rd receiver is not a luxury.
We don't know that, but why not hedge our bet. This team is sorely lacking depth at the #3 position. Underwood doesn't even belong in the NFL let alone on the field for 40% of any one teams snaps. Allen can play the slot. He can do it for the one year or 2.I totally disagree with every you said after "2 - "... but that's why we have message boards and discussions. We won't agree on everything. No biggie.
They need to select a Quarterback.
