http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/01/27/jets-could-trade-cromartie-instead-of-revis/

apparently the Jets are thinking of trading cromartie now instead of Revis. i think the Bucs need to look in on this one real hard if it goes down. Cro made the probowl this year and played very well in Revis' absence. he can be had for a much cheaper contract and for probably only a 2nd round pick. guys like him and Revis dont come along in FA very often. we just need to make sure he gets a vasectomy and doesnt have anymore kids and weve got a shutdown CB on our hands.

This draft is full of good corners. Wouldn't waste my money on a player with his character.

he is somewhat of an idiot but hes been much better recently. hes not a drug user and doesnt beat his wife. sure he has problems keeping it in his pants and remembering his kids' names but hes a damn good corner. just saying that wed be dumb not to kick the tires on him

He's an idiot, locker room cancer, and he avoids contact. Just not a good fit imo.

I don't know. Not many people realized, but Cromartie was one of the best CB's in the NFL last year. He did a great job at replacing Revis. Not sure he could duplicate that production though and he isn't physical which Schiano probably wouldn't like (or the fact that he has 10 kids). I doubt we get him, but I wouldn't mind if we did.

Replacing an idiot like Talib with another idiot like Cromartie would make us idiots.

seems to me he has been the opposite of lockerroom cancer. he hated the tebow deal and rightly so and even went so far as to stand up for mark sanchez. that says alot if you are willing to stick up for that guy. he isnt a guy that likes to tackle but dont say he isnt physical, hes one of the best corners at press man and jamming guys at the line. deion sanders hated tackling as well. i dont care if a CB gets zero tackles so long as his guy isnt getting the ball. cromartie stepped up in a big way when revis went down and hed been a massive upgrade over any guy weve got on the team or any rookie

Sounds like the Jets are looking for at LEAST another 1st round pick. The new GM likely already knows there's NO WAY they can be a playoff contender tying up the kind of $$$ they are gonna need to keep both these guys there. They gonna need that $$$ to upgrade elsewhere.
