Derek Cox is a current CB on the Jacksonville Jaguars who is very underrated. He is only 26 and we could sign him for relatively cheap. The reason why I think Cox will be a Buc next year is based on 1 reason only: Greg Oden, he used to be the DB Coach for the Jaguars and was in Jacksonville with Cox. Oden also really liked him. Anyways Derek Cox is a solid number 2-3 CB option who would sadly be the best CB on our roster.

Here is a tweet from Tom Kraniqi: "With Oden on board, don't be surprised if the #Bucs to target CB Derek Cox in FA. He played well in 2012 & he's only 26. Good player" This was around the time the Bucs hired Oden

He is probably going to be tagged at the very least. They have a bunch of cap room.

Derek Cox is certainly intriguing considering we just hired Oden.  He is a big CB at 6'1" and close to 200 lbs and seems to be considered a player on the rise based on what I read.  The only real concern is he seems to be injury prone (missed 14 games the last two seasons).  The last thing we need is another Talib who seems to get hurt every few games and cant be relied on to stay on the field

I like the Ertz pick.  I think this will prove to be the deepest TE class since the Gronk/Hernandez year and this is good news for us as we need a playmaking TE real bad.  I fully expect the Bucs to draft a TE in the first 3 rounds

I dont know where but I read that the Jags were going to let Cox test the market because they are frustrated with how many games he has missed, but I would be all for it, he is young and while he has been hurt recently the kid can play, he's 6 foot 1 so that will be good for matchups against the Falcons, he is physical and I feel his ceiling is more than a 2 and 3 cb option, worst case to me is a solid num 1 and best case is a number 1, the reason he hasnt been ranked that high yet is because his inability to stay healthy...i'm sure Oden will be all over the team to sign him. If we sign either him or Sean Smith I will be thrilled with the additions of Trufant, Poyer, Rhodes or Logan Ryan. Jarius Byrd I doubt leaves Buffalo and Ronde if he is back will start and wouldn't come back if he was being demoted

is ron powell in the draft?  not sure mckelvin will sign for those peanuts, and i think most guys listed will get more on the open market.  jairus byrd will probably be franchised right?  doubt we bring in 2 FA CB's and a 1st round pick, but since mckelvin is paying us to play i think it works.  but as for sheldon richardson, i liked the idea of him initially, but is he a better pass rusher than bennett or bowers from the inside?

Richardson is just a beast in general and that is who I really want in the first round, I dont want to reach for Banks, this kid will make this d line a definite force to reckon with, signing either Smith or Cox in FA and than adding two corners in this draft will make this D a lot better, Biggers or Johnson can be good 3 or 4''s, the problem last year was we had to use them as 1 and 2's

Ron Powell is not entering the draft. He tore his knee up twice and missed all of last season.

Bucfan18, nice work, well thought out and possible in some form. Would be a hell of an off season haul.

Sorry GT, I'm not the GM so I can't really structure a contract properly but I left enough Cap Space for some minor tweaking here and there...

Gametime, Why Lane Johnson??? There are a ton of other positions we need to address before RT this of course is depending what we do in FA but before we can add to our already great O Line and try to fix its only weak point are:
CB, CB, DT, TE at least......

i think if we pick up 2 CB's and a S in FA then our pass defense isnt such a pressing need imo.  i really dont see the need for a DT.  i dont buy the need for 2 rush DT's.  sounds great in theory, but i think bennett/bowers can rush just as well inside.  i threw in floyd (he'd probably be drafted already) because while he doesnt seem to excel at anything, he can play anywhere on the DL and be at the very least adequate.  TE was filled with martellus bennett, stocker, and whomever is left around the 4th...guys like sims/williams if you like the blocking, escobar/jefferson if you like more athletic.

as for lane johnson...he can step in day 1 and play on either side (supposedly).  start him at RT and groom him to take over for penn.  he's best value.
