Like I have thought all along, but never posted because a lot of guys here were/are too damn paranoid; we have the upper hand, period! The Jets have a problem with Revis in many ways, they only way they solve it is to trade him; no matter what, we don't have to take Revis. We can discuss a deal and walk away if we want....This situation is like buying a hard to sell car from a car dealer.....If the dealer gets a sniff of interest for that ugly color car from a customer, they don't let him go with buying the car; they will play hardball to see if the customer is a sucker (to jack up the price a little) and doesn't know any better, but after a while, they will let the car go. We can go to another store to trade or draft another corner (I think our pass rush is in need more than any corner.....but that's just me), sure it will be nice to get Revis, but there are unknown variables that we want to make sure the cost is worth the risk!!

Give us what we want Jets or kick rocks!!

You're right... it is just you. Our CB corp is high schoolish.

I thought Lovie said he wanted quickness & speed, even at the QB position?

No, Morgan. He said they ""appear"" no closer, not they "are" no closer. So he said nothing.

Jets look like they'll just keep him...

We will be Carolina ready when we are Carolina ready.

I think we're well past the point where Darrelle Revis has any relevance to this thread!

There\'s a very real chance the Bucs waive [Revis] before next season. At the very least, it will be a discussion worth having.

Doesn't matter who is trying to cover the WR if we don't have pass rush the WR will get open! Not saying we need one more than the other they both are bad! Having one CB that takes up a huge chunk of cap doesn't make sense when we have big needs elsewhere and would have to give up picks to get overpaid CB.

You're right... it is just you. Our CB corp is high schoolish.

Our pass rush is Division II.

From everything I've seen... he'll show up for the money.

We will be Carolina ready when we are Carolina ready.

glad they're holding his feet to the fire - maybe the Bucs will get some intel on how he's doing, good or bad.

Wouldn't you show up for 3 mil?

Jets are bluffing this one all the way to the river.

What I got from this was he will either show up for the money and then get traded the day of the draft to us, or the Jets may not want to pay him that 3 million and trade him to us the weekend before the 15th.

If they pay him $3M, their trade demands have to go up to compensate.  If he skips, it gives the appearance that he's got a long way to go in rehab and his trade stock drops even lower... leaving the option of keeping him easier.

We will be Carolina ready when we are Carolina ready.

I'm reading (or is that "mah sources tell me") that it's not just the $3M he will lose. If he skips, that $1M roster bonus from March also goes away.  He'll show up.

EDIT: The original $1M roster bonus that activated in March is actually one of three $1M bonuses that are tied to his offseason participation... $3M total...
