I think we are only interested in adding cornerbacks that excel in man coverage, which greatly decreases the interest of many free agents. Not just our interest in them, but I think many guys might be uninterested in coming to a system where they know they will be put on an island outside and asked to do a lot.
isnt grimes more of a zone cornerback?

Yes he is....and we didn't sign him. He never visited. Just some rumors of interest that were neither here nor there....so that kinda backs up my point.

Biggers is more a m2m corner and definitely not a zone corner but the Bucs organization let him walk.  To say what the Bucs are doing not only at the CB position, but many positions on the team is baffling, would be a severe understatement haha.

Biggers is like 120lbs and gets thrown around like a rag doll. Plus he lacks ball skills. I mean he has zero ball skills. None. Zero.

He is pretty solid at blanketing his man, always has been....but his lack of strength and ball skills make him pretty useless.

Ball skills is what makes CB elite or not.  Then there are the rest of the CB's in the league that don't rack up INT's but are able to cover and have awareness.  Biggers was the best m2m CB (ideally a nickle CB forced into action due to the Bucs poor moves at the spot) on the roster at the end of December and they let him walk.  This supposed plan has too many inconsistencies, and is riding on too much.  Finding a CB that has ball skills, can tackle and excells at m2m requires a high draft pick investment or trading of Revis.  They pretty much don't exist beyond round 2 honestly, and most of those type of CB's that don't sneak into round 1 are scooped up rapidly at the top of the 2nd round.

Biggers should've been brought back for the cheap amount he signed in Washington. But I'm not gonna cry that he's gone. He is replaceable

Keeping horrible players because we have no good ones, is not a recipe for success. Moving on from Biggers was a good move. Not replacing him with anyone....not so good.

Miller and Biggers were not horrible it is that they were asked to do things beyond their skill and talent levels.  Horrible would be Benn who didn't even sniff playing time as a slot guy and he had more draft picks invested in his selection.

Biggers can run with anyone but cant defend a pass to save his life. If thats asking too much, then im not sure what a cb is supposed to do.

Miller was to play a tilted nose which is supposed to eat up 2 blockers to allow the ut to get 1 on 1s. His play was improved due to this role, but I wouldnt call it a success given the amoun t of dohble teams mccoy saw coming from center and rg. The tilted nose is supposed to crash across the a gap taking the lg and c away from the re and ut. He didnt succeed anywhere near what he shouldve. Like I said, he played much better but you expect more from that role.
