Studies have been done by an independent firm to say you are wrong.

What is your point? I was wrong? Ok. You win. I was wrong.

the thing that I don't really understand is that over the last two seasons, the Bolts have drawn well - I know there are a lot of snowbirders from the north and Canada at the games and the stadium is filled with opponent fans, but for a team that hasn't done very well over the last several seasons, they continue to draw. I know Vinik has done a lot as an owner to improve the fan experience, but what else explains that phenomenon?

only hard core sports fans think of attendance as an obligation or think that winning cures all. Hard core sports fans are alos just a tiny fraction of ticket sales. Seats are sold to many people who are looking for entertainment value. The Bolts are easy to get to (location, location, location), the action is close and its air-conditioned and its not crazy expensive.

Location, location, location . . . it applies to sports too . . .  for some reason a few hard core Rays fans don't think so.

Will Rays ever draw big at Tropicana?

They aren't in a pennant race.   They're in a "wild card" race manufactured by MLB to try to keep more teams interested through September.   The Rays are 7 or 8 games under .500 since August 1, averaging around 2 runs a game at home since that time, and holding on to a WC spot by the skin of their teeth.    I call THAT depressing when the team was in first place and appeared to have a WC spot all but locked up a month or so ago.

Nice win vs Orioles.........Great pitching by the Rays. Sorry that the Bucs lost, but there's a hope coming from the Trop.

28k at the Trop to see it. Romero did a great job on his call-up.

This race is far from over: NY throwing some strong pitchers in the next series while our usual suspect pitchers will be throwing - who knows that Moore will do tonight?

Texas, only a game back, will be throwing Darvish vs Astros - they're not going away.  Cleveland plays the Chisox, a team that may be mailing it in.

Price to pitch tomorrow vs Texas....Cobb vs Cleve (if we get that far).

David Price's future: Playoffs (maybe), and then a trade (probably)
http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/writer/danny-knobler/23862040/david-prices-future-playoffs-maybe-and-then-a-trade-probably

\\NEW YORK -- David Price admits the thought has crossed his mind.

These are likely his final days with the Rays. Wednesday night's start against the Yankees was likely his last regular-season start for the only team he has ever known.

When this season ends, whenever that is, the Rays are expected to explore trading their Cy Young left-hander. By the time spring training begins, Price will likely be wearing a new uniform.

The reason is simple. The Rays can't afford to sign Price to a long-term contract. By the end of this season, he'll be two years from free agency.
