The 4 "experts" at CBS all have the Bucs taking a DT in the 1st round.

2 have the Bucs taking Star; one has the Bucs taking Floyd; and one has the Bucs taking Richardson.

Of the 3 DTs,  whom do you feel would be best for the Bucs???

Thanks

Floyd would be a beast, but he is definitely the guy that isn't making it to the 13th pick.

Star might make it, is a fit (not as good as Floyd) - if we do go DT, I'm guessing he's the guy.

Richardson is a fit too, but I think his value is in the late first - Would be a good candidate if we could trade with Denver (so they get their DE.)

Maybe Star....all three would be a waste though, IMO. NT isn't as big of a need as some of the other holes on D. We would be fine with Gibson at NT in '13...but we wouldn't be fine with either of the CBs that started last year, starting again in '13.

Actually the problem isnt that Freeman stinks. He is average. He puts up good numbers just often enough to make you think he is better than he is. Bad and great are convincing. But mediocre makes you live with the delusion for too many years. He is just good enough to waste our time and not good enough to get us where we want to go.

Floyd by far but he will be gone before we pick

star if he falls to us is a great value and can play nose

richardson if we really decide we want a DT and those 2 are off the board

To me its a no-brainer. We will draft  a DE at no.13 if we dont trade it.

Bowers is an unknown and Clay will never be elite.

i was gonna do a long response but figured it was pointless...because i dont know the plan.  cant defend something i have no idea on.

Star makes the most sense as he is stout against the run and can also rush the passer.  Floyd will be long gone and Richardson would also make sense, but he seems more like a 3 technique

Yeah Fort Meyer, you are probably right.

Richardson is getting acclaim for his non-stop motor and his intense desire comes across well in his interviews.

But perhaps he is more like McCoy and the Bucs might not want 2 similar type DT's

1st round DTs generally become busts. I dont know much abouyt  any of these guys but if we take one he better be VERY impressive.

Im sick of "great" college DTs immediately falling flat on their face in the NFL

Many 3 techs bust but the big fatties seem to be safer picks.  Maybe I am  wrong but thats my impression.  Still, NT for a 4-3 that high in the draft is not good value.

Star Lotulelei 38 reps on the bench, 3 cone of 7.76 and shuttle of 4.65. Dominated position drills w/ multiple D-Line coaches.

Star is a good prospect no doubt but you better be sure you are getting a Vince Wolfork to justify the pick.

Look who would  playing next to him that alone would help him succeed in the NFL. Just check the tape tho and get back with me.
