every guy on the team already know who's gay. Y'know, it's the guy with the boner in the shower.

To be fair, maybe the guy is just doing a Michael Jackson imitation.

Lol...   interesting article.

I see no problem with the subject...

I don't think our society is ready though.

Who knew how good it would feel as a fan when we now know what it\'s like for our team to have a direction, an attitude, and dare I say an offense?.

Good time to be a Bucs fan.

With all due respect, you don't understand how man's brain works. Straight or gay, we are total pervs.

I respect the hell out of the women I work with. I know their families and have nothing but love for them.....but if we shower together at work I'm still lookin and getting aroused. The idea that I could somehow be in a shower with women soaping up her bodies and NOT get turned because simply because I respect them as work associates or teammates is just not reality....and the idea that a gay man could do the same in a shower full of naked chiseled men is equally ridiculous.

If players are going to be openly gay in the NFL, then they should just have separate showers. End of drama. And before anyone says some dumb comment about segregation or something, this isn't about skin color of religious beliefs. This is about sexuality and removing the scenario for bad situations. If you forget the politically correct brain washed nonsense for a second and use common sense, it is pretty obvious. Whether it be straight men and women, or straight men and gay men....same rules apply.

If a gay man is turned on by checkin out naked men in the showers, then it should be very easy to determine who they are, right?

I always find it highly amusing when grown men say that they don't want to share a locker room or be naked in front of a gay man.LOL ... they are so irresistible that even another man can't keep his hands to himself.

So it would also be ok if men and women shower together at work....as long as the women aren't very attractive?
I think the issue is that it is a team environment where everyone shows their respect towards each other. I doubt that a openly gay man is going to ogle or make unwanted passes in a locker room full of straight men.

If there was an issue with gay men and straight men showering together we'd likely know about it already since they have been for years.

Happy and Peppy and Bursting with love.

no, but gay women shower with straight women all the time. same goes for men. Are you really this dumb?

So now I am dumb? Doesn't take you long to downgrade a conversation does it?

Silly me for thinking a separate shower for straight and gay people is a horrible idea. I'll be the first to admit, If I am taking a shower with naked women in the same shower....I'm looking and I am aroused. They don't even half to be hot. Why? Because I am a man and that is how we are wired....but I'm suppose to believe that the gay guy next to me in the shower isn't looking and getting aroused? C'mon man. Who is being dumb now?

read the rest of my comments and youll understand why I asked if you were dumb.

So a guy whos secretly gay in the shower is fine and a guys whos openly gay is not. that's what your saying. he could've showered next to you for years with absolutely no issues and now that he comes out, you cant shower next to him because he may think about you. You knowing he may thinking about you scares you because you are uncomfortable with your sexuality and may even be denying deeply seeded homo erotic feelings.

he showered in the same place for years without getting a chubby, hitting on you, or molesting you, but since hes out of the closet now he wont be able to contain himself?

Yes, that's **CENSORED**ing dumb.

Well of course it is all mental. I never insinuated gay guys would suddenly attack once they came out. That doesn't change anything. How do you think a typical NFL player will react when he finds out the guy showering next to him is gay and has been hiding it? These guys aren't the most intelligent, well versed and sensitive guys on the planet. Almost all of them have been raised to be homophobic in the ultra masculine world of football ....but you think all will be fine when they know? C'mon man. I'm just being realistic. Like I stated in my first post of this thread, the NFL is unique. Folks need to stop trying to make it live and die by the same rules they have in their 9 to 5 lives. Maybe we should start letting women play too. Don't wanna discriminate or anything!

Anyways, to me, when gay kids are excepted in high school football it will role into college and then eventually into the NFL....but we ain't there yet and it won't start at the top and work backwards. It's gotta be a culture change that starts at youth.

I don't care if the homophobic NFL players like it or not. Believe it or not, the NFL is not on an island. If they have a problem with it, they can give up the millions they are making and quit. You'd think tough guys would be able to tough it out, though.

On a side note, I'm very surprised that a gay player hasn't come out yet.
Think about it: instant celebrity, a hero in the gay community, millions writing books and doing talk shows, AND, the biggest one, A PLACE IN WORLD HISTORY. Think Rosa Parks.

Maybe you aren't wired correctly.

I'm a guy, I'm straight, have zero problem with folks being gay, straight, bi, or whatever they choose to be, and to be honest, have been in skinny dipping situations, as well as other situations, where I've been with attractive naked women, and not been aroused.

you said that they would need different locker rooms. You said they would become aroused.  they are already together. Someone coming out of the closet isn't going to change whats been going on already. Use the military for your reference. Pretty sure straights and gays shower together regularly with next to no problems with a much larger group of people to base this off of instead of 1600 nfl players.

the only difference is the extreme homophobes will choose to not shower at the same as guys they know are gay despite the fact that there wasn't any issue all the times prior before the homophobe knew.

and guess what, if women could prove to be an elite athlete that could make it in the NFL, they would likely get a shot. Its happened in NCAA several times and all lower levels a ridiculous amount of times. please don't let your opinions based on homophobic reaction be the fuel to your logic. Seems your views on gays and women are a bit skewed for the times. In 1980, youd fit right in.

Because I can separate normal fun, from a sexual situation.....

We may bang it out later, but uhhhh... It's definitely not impossible to control yourself.
