Maybe they dont want 1 year deals and thats all the Bucs are willing to give.
Multi-year deals aren't always multi-year deals. The Bucs gave George Selvie a 2-year deal and he lasted 2 weeks.

FRG is the most logical poster on this board.  You guys just don\'t like where the logical conclusions take you.

Well I mean maybe they wanted actual longer than 1 year guaranteed money. Bucs havent been willing to give out guaranteed money anyways. Could be the deal breaker for both sides.

The deal breaker isn't length of contract, the deal breaker is the Bucs do not want either. Bucs give out plenty of guaranteed money, just not signing bonuses, instead over the first two years.

not a surprise...

We currently have 10 DEs and 6 DT's  on the roster to fill what will probably be 9 or 10 game day spots.

I'd expect we can find a few JAGS that can play and by that I mean rotate and spell the starters (IMO Bowers, McCoy, Spence, Claiborne) while getting better (and a younger team overall.)

91 Bowers, Da'Quan  DE 6-4 288 23 3  Clemson
94  Clayborn, Adrian  DE 6-3 280 24 3  Iowa
92  Gholston, William  DE 6-7 278 21 R  Michigan State
78  Levingston, Lazarius  DE 6-4 292 25 2  LSU
96  Means, Steven  DE 6-4 260 23 R  Buffalo
98  Morgan, Aaron  DE 6-4 250 24 4  Louisiana-Monroe
67  Owusu, Ernest  DE 6-5 270 24 1  California
50  Te'o-Nesheim, Daniel  DE 6-3 263 25 4  Washington
92  White, Markus  DE 6-4 264 25 2  Florida State

95  Gibson, Gary  DT 6-3 312 31 7  Rutgers
90  Landri, Derek  DT 6-2 290 29 7  Notre Dame
97  Masifilo, Matthew  DT 6-3 280 23 2  Stanford
93  McCoy, Gerald  DT 6-4 300 25 4  Oklahoma
XX  Neblett, Andre  DT 6-0 310 24 4  Temple
97  Spence, Akeem  DT 6-1 307 21 R  Illinois

and I'd Mosely into this mix due to his size.

That sucks. They must really have confidence in what they have now. I hope they are right. Id hate to see the defense get shredded to good teams again because they cant get to the passer.

I think the dl is the biggest blunder this team has made this offseason.  They thought their secondary was going to be good enough last year as well.  I knew it wasn't going to be and I was right.  Got the same feeling this year about the front end.

Just like the LB corps last season?

We just don't know.

Go get Bridgewater.   Do what it takes.

Good. It's not the popular opinion but I'm glad we're rolling with what we've got.

Sign Mike Will, sign rookies, and roll everything else over to next year.

it might prevent us from reaching the playoff level and anything less is a huge disappointment.  If you are ok with being a mid tier team then great but I want more.

This defense isn't designed for the DEs to get sacks anyways.

LOL.

Hell, brees might not be as accurate as manziel.

Im happy with the DE's, although were screwed if McCoy gets hurt at DT. Regardless of Freeney and Abraham.......isnt Richard Seymour still available?

if our secondary is healthy...   everyone wins.

BTW - if the Bucs don't win the division, we are not in the playoffs...  JMO.

Go get Bridgewater.   Do what it takes.

He's playing for money though from what I read, either he gets a good amount or he doesn't want to play.
