It's not that surprising, just based on the way it happened.  Anyone, in almost any sport, unless they are a true superstar, who waits til the middle of an offseason to just fade out, won't make a big splash in news talks.

Barely a blip on the national sports news.
Un-**CENSORED**ing-believable.

Nah. Was the lead story on NFL Live on ESPN. They actually understand football there and I haven't checked NFLN but I"ll bet it's the lead there too.

Sad day but not unexpected. The last active player from SB 37 hangs up his cleats.

Thanks for the Memories Ronde. You will be missed.

My fave Buc is retiring.

Now he becomes a part of my All Time Fave Bucs.

It was absolutely great watching him play over the years.  My GF was saddened by the news as well.  She always said he was always making big time plays, and she doesn't watch too much ball.  But she always loved Barber.  People can see greatness is the point.

Sad day.

It would be nice if someone could make a 10+ minute highlight reel of his career. There's so many small, but important plays here and there that I've forgotten about but would love to see. Sapp and Brooks needs one of those as well.

In 2006, one of the worst seasons Ronde endured... he had two pick 6s in a game that kept the large contingent of opponent fans quiet. He tended to do that to philly.  But, they took a very late lead and thought they sneaked out with a win.  A Matt Bryant 62 yard FG shut 'em up again. Great day!

Great idea!

Or maybe a Top 20 plays for #20?

Thanks for the memories, Ronde!

Definitely a depressing day for Buc fans :[ you'll be missed Ronde! The pick 6 in the NFC championship game is my all time favorite play! Such an underrated player, one of the all time greats.
