Personally I don't think anyone would look right wearing those numbers in a Bucs uniform again.

Agreed, though I "no doubt" 55, 20 and 47.

There\'s a very real chance the Bucs waive [Revis] before next season. At the very least, it will be a discussion worth having.

40: no but I understand why some would want to.
47: on the fence.. but yea

If anything 56 would be retired before the #40 is even be considered.

20 and 55 should join 99. John Lynch wasnt the same talent level as the other three in my opinion, and his time in Denver makes it harder for me to think of him as exclusive to Tampa.

Meh, Lynch played two more seasons in Tampa Bay than Sapp did and basically begged the team to bring him back before signing with Denver.

I don't think they should retire any of those numbers.   If they make the hall of fame, consider retiring them.

Fran Tarkenton, Hall of Fame QB said. \\\"Ive watched Freeman a lot. He just plays God-awful. Thats who you are. Its just a player being able to play or not play. Josh Freeman has proven to me that he cant play.\\\"

Those are all iconic numbers in Buccaneer history. I disagree with the statement that 56 should be retired before 40. Hardy wasn't drafted here and he didn't play here all that long. He was great and made a huge impact for sure. A-Train is completely different. He was our only offensive superstar for years. This team was built on defense and led by defensive stars but A-Train was always the exception. I could never see another player wearing 40, it would never look right. Also considering how seldom numbers in the 40's are given out on a team is even more of a reason to not let anyone else wear 40 or 47. They will all be in the Ring of Honor soon. 20, 40, 42, 47, 55, 63, 99 no one should ever wear these numbers again.

Completely shocked that pretty much nobody thinks Alstott deserves his number retired.

Alstott was a good player and a fan favorite...but Simeon Rice deserves it more than he does (and I am not in favor of retiring Rice's number)...  Selmon, Sapp and Brooks are definite because they are Hall of Famers... If Barber gets in, then he should be considered.  That's it in my few....
