Was 2006, the New York Giants finished the season at 8-8, the next year they won the Superbowl.

If you look at the Giants 2006 season, it was eerily similar to the Bucs season last year: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_New_York_Giants_season

The following year they went 10-6 and got hot in the playoffs and won the Superbowl.

Manning's stats in 2006:  2006   NY Giants   16   77.0-QBR   301   522   57.7   3244   202.8   6.2   24Tds   18Ints
Freeman's stats in 2012:2012   Tampa Bay   16   81.6-QBR   306   558   54.8   4065   254.1   7.3   27Tds   17Ints

Hoping that history does repeat itself ...

If it takes black magic to win a super bowl, then sure

RD 1) QB B. Bortles/ T. Bridgewater/ J. Manziel
RD 2) WR Kelvin Benjamin/ A. Robinson/ D. Adams/ M. Lee/
RD 3) OG D. Dozier/ C. Richardson/
RD 5) WR D. Archer/ J. Huff/ M. Davis/ TJ Jones/ R Grant
RD 6) OLB P Shembo/ R. Powell/ - DE A. Lynch/ M Sam  RD 7) G B. Thomas (injured)

Most of us will take another Lombardi any way we can get it!
That Giants team of 2007-08 was nothing special as I recall; they kinda came out of nowhere to even qualify as a wildcard... Getting hot at the right time!

If we make it to the Championship game, I hope Barber un-retires and resigns with us for the Superbowl!

Beat me to it.  I actually thought about this the other day.  Just shows how teams that no one thought of at the beginning of the season can show up and win a Super Bowl.  That's why the NFL is top dog.

Barber has to question Freeman's leadership skills.

Barber has to question Freeman's leadership skills.

Hes got too much class to do that openly, unlike his brother.
