Rare talent that has done nothing but make big plays since he's been here. You pay him what he wants and lock him up for his career.

Just kidding about the "honor your contract" bit.  :-* ;D

Bold: If you cancel out 1/3 of his career (2011)

The Buccaneers and Mike Williams are "very close" to a contract extension according to the receiver who spoke to the media after practice this week. Williams is entering the final year of his four-year rookie contract and is set to earn a reported $1.44 million dollars in 2013.

If you guys aren't the first to report it, then I along with several others, are going to get very upset and tell you how much PR has slipped in terms of content, coverage, etc.....you have been warned.

Good day.

Honor your contract, son. ($1.4 million)
His contract is up after this season. He has honored it.

Honor your contract, son.
Good lord. You're supposed to extend players before their contracts run out so that way they can only negotiate with you and not know how much one of the other 31 teams is willing to pay.

Durrka durrka... ::)

Fact is, he has honored it, and well. He could have forced their hand earlier, but didn't.

MW has been nothing but professional since Tampa drafted him (besides his run in with the law involving a so called dUI that charges were dropped).

Naismith was right about Revis. Everyone else is a dummy.

Yeah...that explains his rookie season.

C'mon Chronic. Don't become The Chronic.

That guy was a football moron.

Stop arguing to argue. You are wrong.

I thought you couldn't call black men, 'son'.

"Son" is ok with me.

"Boy" played in Tarzan. Just sounds disrespectful.

So we're gonna pay open market money for a player with a year left on his current deal (at an excellent team value)?

Would fit Dom's pattern though.  Hopefully at least it will be free out after a couple seasons like most of the other deals we've done.

Dom is quickly setting up a situation where he (well, more likely his successor) will have to cut more then one or more of these recent front line signings before said player(s) decline in play.  Pretty much the only way we will be able to keep all these guys beyond this season is if Josh does flop and we start over young again at qb.

Still, of all the recent signings, Mike sure wouldn't be my first choice to draw the line in the sand on.

I continue to wait for the contract where I feel the Bucs "won".  At 4-28ish (with the leverage of the additional profit for next season greatly increasing the value of the contract) I sure wouldn't feel like Dom got one over on Mike's agent.

Get it done before the season starts so we don't have to worry about another team grabbing him

Paying Mike Williams Anquan Bolding money isn't open market pay. It's a deal. Mike could get more on the open market IMO. He's got 193 catches for 2731 yards 23 TDs in 3 years. That's good production.

Danny Amendola got 5yrs $31mil on the open market. Which averages out to less than Anquan Boldin money. But Amendola is nowhere near the receiver Mike is.
