"Agree    It indeed was a total travesty of justice... Girl was far more of  victim than anything.  The guy killing himself caused the whole issue.. The public and police wanted to do it."

And this is precisely the type of thing the ACLU was founded to protect against. They have strayed far, far from their beginnings.

"REPEATEDLY . . .  lied to the police and the result of that is the police did not know who they were dealing with."

Let us hope that in the future officers don't let their safety ride on the friends and family of the people they're arresting ratting out their loved ones at the first opportunity. Seems like in their line of work a miscalculation like that could get you killed.

Frankly, I'm in awe that so many people would stand behind the argument "there's no way police officers could have known that the tattooed biker they just picked up for shooting a kid might be dangerous. His family should have warned them."
IIRC the guy picked his cuffs.  I'm sure he's not the first to do it as I've heard of it happening a few times.  With peoples lives on the line you'd think they could get better equipment.

He had a key, but the better equipment theory still holds. Hell, even where I work I have a box of locks that are all keyed the same, but I'm the only one who has that key.

Bowen is in prison because the angry mob couldn't get at the perpetrator, and our politicized legal system placated them with a surrogate.

Agree    It indeed was a total travesty of justice... Girl was far more of  victim than anything.  The guy killing himself caused the whole issue.. The public and police wanted to do it.

she REPEATEDLY lied to the police about who he was.  Sure, he was a bad guy and she was a "victim" in the sense of her dealings with him, BUT the reason they threw the book at her was primarily because she REPEATEDLY . . . not just once or twice .  .REPEATEDLY . . .  lied to the police and the result of that is the police did not know who they were dealing with.

two different juries reached that conclusion, as did several appellate court and several judges . . .

Baloney!  Repeatedly....  And law enforcement is not allowed to lie.   It is called playing to the angry crowd..  When a policeman gets killed nothing is spared until the killer is dead.   Unfortunately, the killer killed himself and robbed the police and public of the thrill of the kill.   Just so unfair!! :'(   Someone has to pay!! :'(   Hey he had a girlfriend  lets fry her instead.  Justice served!   :'(

Funny, how the same mentality spawned the current Zimmerman trial.   Poor little 12 year old black kid buying his little brother some skittles is killed by a racist white" cop wanna be "  Oh wait he wasn't white but a Hispanic Jew.   Doesn't matter he has to fry!   Justice for the Martin family for their poor 12 year old model child. :'(

The only difference in the two cases  the NAACP and Race baiters ran with this one  while the Boys in Blue ran with the Bowen...   Truthfully, she is pretty similar to the girl that Trayvon was speaking with in terms of intelligence.

There\'s a very real chance the Bucs waive [Revis] before next season. At the very least, it will be a discussion worth having.

Wow!  Couldn't stop watching the video.  That's messed up but could you imagine the streets without the cops around.  Lesser of two evils (for now) I guess.

It's funny how Zimmerman is now being bashed with the "wannabe cop" label when every officer on the force was a wannabe cop before they became one. Law enforcement is just naturally going to attract that type of person, and to think that they wont overstep their bounds without constant monitoring is naive.

Understand, I have nothing but respect for law enforcement that is there to protect and serve us.    If  their prime mission statement is "protection of property, person, and the one's we love" they truly deserve nothing but praise.   However, when they focus on issues that are far removed from that mission statement I have little if any respect for them.   In many ways they are worse than a gang of thugs because as a law abiding citizen you are taught to always respect and trust law enforcement.   That video indeed is beyond disturbing and really horrifying to believe such people actually are in law enforcement.

I also find this "Code of Silence" equally disturbing.

It has been 15 years since the Carr murders...  Saw this article printed in 2008... Wonder if justice has been satisfied?   20 years is a long time.  It is heart warming to know it is all the taxpayers dime! :-[

Nice find.  Lots of this stuff around, especially when people are filming the cops, they end up getting roughed up a lot.

http://www.krages.com/phoright.htm

There was recently another example of a woman who went into court for some kind of routine hearing, got molested before the hearing by an officer, complained to the judge, and they arrested her (same cop who molested her) while the judge distracted her kid and ignored her.  For "making false accusations against a police officer".  Which isn't a crime.

The judge is one cold hearted **CENSORED**.

In answer to your question?  No conspiracy just that for vigilante justice to be served they needed someone to take the place of Carr.   Bowen fit that spot and they were no longer robbed of seeing someone punished after Carr killed himself.    JMO but law enforcement was completely embarrassed that Carr was able to do what he did, and this was their only out.  Blame it on the girlfriend.

JMO but law enforcement was completely embarrassed that Carr was able to do what he did, and this was their only out.  Blame it on the girlfriend.

except  . . .

it was NOT  "law enforcement" who found her guilty of lying MANY TIMES to the police . . .it was TWO DIFFERENT juries
it was NOT "law enforcement" who sentenced her . ..  . it was TWO DIFFERENT judges
It was NOT "law enforcement" who upheld some of her convictions and sentences* .  .  it was the appellate courts

The court, not law enforcement, "threw the book" at her because she was the lynch pin to so much death. If she doesn't CHOOSE, of her own free will, to LIE to the police multiple times . . . much of what happens after doesn't happen
The court, not law enforcement, "threw the book" at her because they want the public to know it does not pay to LIE to "law enforcement" not because they (the judges) were acting as some sort of proxy for "embarrassed" law enforcement

* if all these entities - juries, judges and appellate courts - were conspiring against her on the behalf of a "completely embarrassed" law enforcement then why did an appellate court throw out some of her convictions? That's a rhetorical question only. No response needed.
