Vikes don't seem to care to resign him despite being a top 6 DE in the league. If Adrian and Daquan DONT show up big time, I think there is a good chance we sign him. May be the reason why we haven't signed a pass rusher. Imo Jared Allen would give us the best defense in the league.

If Tampa signed him, it would signal Freeman's demise.

There's just not enough money to do both I'm afraid. But you are right, if somehow he ever becomes avalible (again), Tampa should be a frontrunner for him.

I'm a freeman fan, but there is no way I wouldn't trade out freeman for revis, goldson, and Allen in one offseason. His future/possible megadeal be damned.

Naismith was right about Revis. Everyone else is a dummy.

He is still a beast. Have you seen what he did to Johny Knoxville? All jokes aside, if he became a FA, how could you say no to a premier DE on the market without having to trade away draft picks? Dominik knows how to work money, check out Revis' guaranteed money.

Jared Allen is still one of the best defensive linemen in the NFL.    Why not sign him?   Don't the Bucs want to make it to the playoffs?

Don't think his contract runs out until the end of the 2013 season.

He will then be 32

We can't do that to DTN.

FRG is the most logical poster on this board.  You guys just don\'t like where the logical conclusions take you.

He'll be 35 at least before he hangs them up.

I'd take two years of his current talent and one season of marginal play. Compared to what we normally have in that position, there's no question about it.

If the bucs are A) wanting to fill stands, B) wanting to have a passrush, or C) making a legitimate push to own the nfcs, they should make a play for the guy if he ever becomes available. Bowers can wait, but a guy this good on the line comes along just so often. The Bucs missed out on him once, it would be a shame if they did so a second time.

Penn might not be too happy about it, but he can be traded next offseason anyway.  ;)

Dude is still going strong. He played a higher % of snaps than any other 4-3 DE. Beast.

Chase, JA is beastmode indeed.

When you can move Penn out of the way, at will, you're a badass.

Don't forget about Aaron Morgan, also. It would be a complete slap in the face to both guys and the last thing we need to do is hurt their feelings, given the massive amount of potential they possess.

If the Bucs did sign Allen, practices would be great with him going up against Donald Penn!  Remember their fight last year where Penn split Allen's nose?
