I think it's a good move IF they eliminate (not reduce or almost reduce) blackouts.

Here is a link to buy season tickets this year:  https://oss.ticketmaster.com/aps/bucs/EN/buy/details/13full

If you hover over some of the RED SECTIONS, you will see that they are available for GROUP SALES ONLY.

Here are the sections that will be closed off:

201, 202, 203, 204, 226, 227( this is the section where my season tickets were), 228, 229, 242, 243, 244, 245
341, 342, 343.

These seats plus the CLUB seats do not count toward the 85% sell out we need to lift the blackout.

So they moved you from your section, and now it is a "GROUP SALES" section, and from that you infer that they are tarping it? Those seats will be for sale, just not to season ticket holders anymore. Last year they had lots of group sales sections, and they were empty as can be.

Where did they offer to move you?

they can tarp off  but NFL rules state that once a section is covered and eliminated for capacity purposes, it can't be re-opened at any point that season., regular season or playoffs

I think this quote of a conversation between Mark Cook and a PRInsider from the insider board might help out.

On the Red Board there is talk of Tarps being put over Raymond James seats.  Any news of this?
Thanks guys.

We have no heard that. I looked into a few months ago when people questioned why they were being moved when renewing their tickets. I was told it was to make more room for large party sales and also some corporate things.

Apparently the Glazers are expecting corporate support for the Bucs this season. Not too far feched if you ask me. Tampa's GDP has been on the rise since 2010 and was at its highest in 4 years in 2012.

I've read the too...so dumb, so if they make the playoffs...and more revenue can be made, for the Bucs/NFL they won't makes total sense from a cash grab league!! ??? ???

I just spoke with my buddy that works @ 1Buc, corporate sales, and he said that any suggestion of covering seats is bullshlt. His exact words....

"Do you think we'd go out and spend $40 mil for Goldson and $100 for Revis to cover up seats? Ain't happening."

One reason for the moving of seats is that the ADA has come down on the team for allowing fans without disabilities to sit in the disabled seating. The other is the need for group seating.

that little ticket peon better do a better job in selling tickets than because they have a long way to go to prevent blackouts - Goldson/Revis/Jackson- LMAO - something tells me they're going to have some open, unsold, sea of red seats again and should have considered the tarps.

Not sure if Tampa Bay Buc fans will be lining up at the RayJay ticket office just because Revis is here.

Bucs will need to win games on a consistent basis to draw them in.

Tell that to your peon ticket rep.

how many years does "consistent basis" require?
