If Freeman doesn't work out this year we're 100% going to be looking for somebody else to replace him next summer. It's in my opinion that the rest of the roster as stands (besides the DE's) are ready to win RIGHT NOW, so it wouldn't be a good idea to start Glennon and have to develop him along the way. The Chargers probably won't have a very good year this year and they'll be looking to move in a different direction from Rivers. I think it would be in our best interest to go after him if he becomes available next summer. Reunite him with V-Jax and give him one of the best rosters he's ever had. It'd also be nice to see our quarterback with some leadership ability and show a little emotion out there instead of the stonefaced, bug-eyed statue that Freeman has become.

Can we start worrying about what we are going to do about the QB position if Freeman fails after the season is over?

This team needs a fiery guy that's ready to win right now. I'm tired of having to wait for players to "develop", and then half the time they never end up developing into half of what we thought they'd become.

No, if there's a bidding war for Rivers.

The pick 6 he threw to LJ last year was one of the worst I have ever seen a pro QB throw. That said, if Freeman is gone, I'd probably rather have him over Glennon if the price is alright. Let Glennon continue to learn, and battle him for the position.

Rivers can still play, things have just been a mess there in San Diego since about the time that LT left for the Jets. Literally all he has left to throw to is Gates and the offensive line is horrendous.

Freeman is still my QB but if for some reason things don't work out I would love to see Phillip Rivers in Pewter.  I feel like I have a personal connection with him.  Not only is he a good Christian but we both have the same number of kids, 6.

He has, but I'd guess that is tied to replacing a HOF RB with Ryan Mathews, their ownership not wanting a pay a total stud in Vincent Jackson, and Antonio Gates being hampered by injuries.

I'd love to see what Rivers could do with Jackson, Martin, and Williams.

I agree.. Draft a rookie to compete with Glennon, sign the best pass rusher available and probably Jimmy Graham.
