I'm more concerned about his body than anything, part of the reason he slipped was the idea that he would have to become a closer type.

The little man from Frisco can pitch!  For as small and young as he looks, the man can pop 97 mile an hour heat, and locate fairly well...a little erratic in moments, but I chalk that up to nerves.

I expect great things from this kid.  If his arm holds up.

Ether, the guy seems to have a smooth rotation, no herky jerky.  His body has a good inverted W, and his release looks effortless.  Size may matter, but looking at him throw, and maintaining the velocity after 100 pitches, I can't see a Kerry Wood comparison even being fair.

He may be small, but he has a TON of pop, and a good motion.

He is a beast.  He was the only pitcher on the board the Rays considered drafting instead of Evan Longoria last year.   I love Evan and am glad they took him, but it looks like our scouts did some good work.  Either of those guys would have been great picks.

You wanna see why he has gone from being drafted in June of last year to MLB less than a year later?

Talk about dominating the minors.  In AAA this year he allowed only 12 hits in 31 innings and had 46K's. He allowed only 1 earned run and posted a 0.29 ERA.  In AAA that is domination like I have never seen before.  This kid is an absolute stud.
