His OBP is sick, and he's producing runs like nobodies business. Perhaps the greatest player of all time?

NO. BONDS IS THE ANTI-CHRIST, HE'S THE ONLY ONE USING ROIDS. DAMN HIM TO HELL. WHO CARES IF HE'S ONE OF THE GREATEST PURE HITTERS OF ALL TIME?

I don't know. But I use it because the guys on ESPN do, and it sounds cool!

You no like baseball cliches?

Youngsters like Holliday and CC look great, and it appears Garrett Anderson is falling off.

I just don't get it, I've heard people say (insert 'great' player) is just a pure hitter, well is that meaning that he's only a good hitter, or does it mean he just hits for a high BA but doesn't have the all around skills of say, a Barry Bonds / Ted Williams. Perhaps they mean pure as in clean as in not using the clear. CONSPIRACY!

I honestly don't know the definition. I've heard Pujols and Bonds definied as excellent pure hitters, so I'm guessing in terms of power possibly?

Potentially.

The topic is straying though, I'm quite impressed with CC finally learning to take walks, his career high is somewhere in the 30's, he's on pace for 75, and his power is really emerging. A 30-30 threat this season with .300/.370 skills and enough range to potentially be a Gold Glover? Superstar.

Yeah he's blossoming into a great LF.

HOF pace really, and I don't think he gets enough credit for being a five tool player.

But seriously a .002 point + on OBP for Anderson? Can you take a walk every now and again?

I ask myself the same thing when Francouer is up to bat.

I agree with the last part, CC is quite underrated, which is pretty surprising considering what a dynamic talent he is.

I am hoping he suffers a career ending injury on his way to the record; couldn't happen to a nicer guy - heh heh.  ;)

Delmon .222/.257
French .310/.365

Ouch, just gotta hope Delmon finds his stroke again.

Be that as it may, Chrispy, he's still a heck of a hitter.
