Quote
Bucs signed QB Chris Simms to a two-year contract extension.

The St. Petersburg Times reports the deal can reach $14.5 million. With the only other quarterbacks set to be on Tampa Bay's roster (Tim Rattay is an impending free agent) Bruce Gradkowski and Luke McCown, Simms is the early favorite to start in 2007. McCown would be the one to go if Tampa brings in a veteran like Jake Plummer for competition

I think we just have to hope he can do some stuff with the playbook to take advantage of Simms deep ball, hopefully Simms starts doing what Gannon told him, use his legs. Perhaps standing on the sideline for 10+ weeks will help him next year?

I love the signing.  We have some depth.

Without him, or with him, I still expect to see the Bucs go after a guy like Garcia anyway.  The QB situation is not stable without Simms.

I agree. I'm not sure I love it, but I've liked Simms since we drafted him, I'll support him, yadda yadda.

no QB, lots of money, well, maybe we can get the defense back to being respectable since our offense will not get any better.

The Simms experiment should be over, we had our OUT and we blew it.

GARCIA is our man, draft a franchise QB, and all is well, instead we have a complete mess at QB in Simms and no relief in sight.

*sigh*
