WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A working coalition of members of the U.S. Senate have reached a deal on an economic stimulus plan and a vote is expected sometime Friday night, Senate sources said.
Sen. George Voinovich leaves the negotiations, saying he has "philisophical" differences with the Republican approach.

Ailing Sen. Ted Kennedy, the Democratic senator who has been absent from the Senate since collapsing on Inauguration Day, is expected to be present for the vote, sources said.

Earlier, Democratic sources and a GOP negotiator said a tentative agreement for a $780 billion stimulus package had been reached.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid took the list of cuts to the nearly $900 billion Senate bill to fellow Democrats, the sources said....

It's almost hillarious.

The Democrats have more than enough votes to pass this bill. But the Democrats don't want to be the ones that get the blame when it fails (which it will).

The smartest thing the GOP has done so far was have every Republican in the House vote against it. When it comes out that this bill is nothing but pork projects for Democrats and their districts while the economy gets worse, the GOP has a brand new campaign issue in 2010.

Obama can moan and cry all he wants about the past. Right now all people care about is now and the future. No one cares about Bush anymore.

You should actually be in politics because you are EVERYTHING that is wrong with this country and our government.

Everything is a Dem / Rep issue.

Instead of helping others and being a well run gov't, everything is Democrat this, Republican that.

I can't beat the system. If 97% of the voting public is determined to vote for one party or the other, my screaming and hollering ain't going to make a damn bit of difference.

Krazy, if you've noticed, not many people even bother engaging in a debate with Cyber any more. He's a one trick pony who claims the entire system is broken (it is) but then focuses 99% on one party. It's boring.

joe - it will be interesting to see what monies are included for job creation - and which ones have been added that were items contested in prior budget fights over entitlement spending and other budget areas.

Well ok, so the principled stand of "This thing sucks and won't help people" isn't good enough for you?

This bill will do nothing to help the economy. You'd be better off spilling $800b onto the highway in small unmarked bills than passing this thing. Anyone who votes for it is voting for en expedient, a political gambit, to show they are doing something but if you strapped any of these tools to a table and got the truth out of them they'd admit it wasn't to help the economy either. Passing this bill is all about politics and nothing about helping people.

All posts are opinions in case you are too stupid to figure that out on your own without me saying it over and over.
If you think Manziel is the best QB in this draft I can safely assume you are an idiot and will treat you as such.
