That answers a question of mine: his fault or the line's?

It doesn't answer it for me. Over the past two seasons Banks and Rosenfels combined for only 66 passing attempts, while over the same two seasons Carr has thrown the ball almost 900 times. Not a really fair sampling, I'd say.

The disparity is so gross that the sample size is bearable, figure they get whacked 4 times as much and they are still much better than Carr. That's what is so bad. Plus, it bears out what plenty of folks have said about Carr being a bit gun shy.

All posts are opinions in case you are too stupid to figure that out on your own without me saying it over and over.

I'd rather see a more experienced QB bought in, more like a Plummer or Garcia. Carr is just another Simms. Houston's trash is not our treasure IMO.

Garcia is old and can go smap crackle pop at any time, he is like class.  Carr is the best opption and will be a BUC watch and see

Well if Carr is a Robo Sack clone, would we go 19-0 every year?

Yeah, whereas David Carr is pretty much invincible.

dont know about that but Garcia is not the long term QB so why even do it at all, plumer will go to huston and Carr to the Bucs

Meaningless. Who did their reps come against? Under what circumstances? We know about Carr's, he played all game, just about every game.

In any case, I'm not saying he doesn't take too many sacks, just saying that 33 passing plays a year by the backup QB's isn't sufficient to make a valid comparison against a player who dropped back at least 450 times -- and actually probably closer to 500 -- in the same period.

Agreed with DTG, for all we know (without doing a little research) the defense was in prevent mode during Sage / Banks time in.

This year he had a QB rating of 83 and a completion percentage of 68. His career passer rating is around 80, and he's got some scrambling ability. He's had around 300 yards rushing three times in his career. Similar to what Gradkowski is capable of in terms of mobility. Nothing flashy, but enough to get some key rushes through out the season.

Houston had no running game this year, and who can you name on their offense? Andre Johnson is the only solid player I can think of. I would give up a third for Carr, no question. Definitely a fourth.

A fourth round pick for Carr? Depends on if you extend him to lower his cap number.  Only then would it be a good deal.

My vote would be a No. I agree with the sentiment that he can tear up a prevent like nobodies business...but...otherwise...I'll pass.

He's not nearly as good at that as Rattay, of course.
