If we could package both of those we could possibly have a shot at Carriker.  IIRC Dallas pulled something similar the year they got Julius Jones.

Oh, and if history is correct, if we trade down we make the right move.  Just look at the Chargers, and all of the sucess they have had.  The only problem with both scenarios  is finding a willing trade partner.

Based on the value chart we could get to about #20 overall.

All posts are opinions in case you are too stupid to figure that out on your own without me saying it over and over.

These are the scenarios:

Case 1:

Win the toss - Indy win SB
#36 = 540
#64 = 270

worth: 810

Case 2:

Lose the toss - Indy win SB
#35 = 550
#64 = 270

worth: 820

Case 3:

Win the toss - Chi win SB
#36 = 540
#63 = 276

worth: 816

Case 4:

Lose the toss - Chi win SB
#35 = 550
#63 = 276

worth: 826

The #20 pick is worth 850 pts and it's held by the Giants.

The #21 pick is worth 800 pts and it's held by the Broncos.

They traded for a 1st rounder the next year. I don't think they had a 1st rounder at all that year.

I think we will get some great value in the second round this year.  With so many spots to fill I don't think trading back into the first round is a good idea.  I think sometimes people fall in love with one player and are willing to give away too much to grap the player they covet.  Our team has so many needs I don't see the benefit in giving up two second rounders for at best the 20 pick in this draft.  There are players that can start that will be available in the second and possibly third rounds just look at what Philly and the Patriots have done in the last few years.  I hope our scouts can find some gems because in the last few years they haven't done that great a job.

There is always a bunch of really good players that come out of the 2nd round.  Stay put and draft wisely.

How about both 2nds and Rice? #21?

If the right guy were there, I wouldn't be opposed.

As long as the player we take at #21 can play safety, defensive tackle, a little left tackle and maybe defensive end it sounds good to me.  ;)

i wish it would happen this way

trade back with Minnesota or Texans, Draft Amobi Okoye, acquire another 2nd rounder

trade our 2nd rounder, and the one from the colts and draft Adam Carriker

then with our 2nd rounder left over, either draft eric weddle or brian leonard

mohawkbucs, that would be ideal and put our defense right back in the top 5,though I wouldn't be opposed to a good lt with that last pick either.

no not at all, the way i wish it would happen

Trade back with Minnesota
we draft Amobi okoye and get another 2nd rounder,  use 2 2nd rounders to get another first, draft levi brown, then draft Rouse or weddle at safety in the 2nd, hell even leonard in the 2nd i would be happy with

that way we get

DT
LT
Safety

three huge weak spots
