Don't think so. He lists his location as Hilo so it must be on the Big Island, not Maui ...
Correct, it's on Big Island. The mountain you can see in the distance is Hale akala (maui).
it's about 14,000 feet up and cold as hell.
Most of my work is done remotely from in hilo, I have to go up and put liquid nitrogen on the camera occasionally, and only rarely have to go up to the summit at night.
Very impressive Doc, it must have taken a lot of hard work to get at the position you are now. I'm truly impressed.
