Thomas is a pure 3-4 OLB. He could be a pretty good DE in the 4-3, but for what he's going to make he's not worth it as a DE.

That's pretty much what I'm thinking.

No link yet, but on NFL network they just said he was tagged.

Edit:  Maybe I was smoking crack or just mis-heard.  I haven't seen this anywhere else yet.

The Ravens are negotiating on a long-term deal for Adalius Thomas.

The Baltimore Sun reports that the Ravens "Could be using the threat of the (franchise) tag to get a deal done." Thomas knows that a monster deal awaits him in free agency and will be extremely difficult to sign this week.

The Ravens have chosen not to place the franchise tag on Pro Bowl LB Adalius Thomas.

Thomas is about to become a very rich man. With at least 3-4 teams interested in him, a signing bonus between $15-$20 million wouldn't shock us. Only Nate Clements may make more this month. He's unlikely to return to Baltimore because they don't have the cap room. Feb. 22 - 2:30 pm et

If that's the case, too rich for this teams blood IMO.

I agree, but I was thinking he could come in and be an elite Sam guy.

Well, I think he could come in and play the Sam for us.  I know that he is a 3-4 guy and that a place like that would be the best place for him to end up.  There are quite a few teams that play the 3-4 and he could go somewhere like NE, Oakland, Cleveland, or San Fran.

ANYONE can come in and play Sam for us.  It is a position that doesn't need to eat up a lot of cap space...

He is small and can't tackle running backs worth a damn.

LOL....I don't have any missed tackle stats, but Cato had 142 that he did make last season.
