There weren't many stars for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the team's 24-10 loss at Carolina on Monday Night Football, but a big first half with two turnovers was enough to put cornerback Ronde Barber ahead of his teammates for this week's Pewter Report MVP honors against the Panthers.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn't have many bright spots in a game that saw the team commit four turnovers on offense and get outscored 24-3 by the Panthers after building a 7-0 first quarter lead, only to lose to Carolina, 24-10, on Monday Night Football. However, cornerback Ronde Barber was the lone Buccaneer who was actively making plays. For his efforts, Barber is this week's Pewter Report MVP.

Barber led the Bucs with four passes defensed to go along with his five tackles, one forced fumble, one interception and one QB hurry. Barber forced a fumble when he tackled Panthers wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson to help set up Tampa Bay’s 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

Barber also provided much better coverage against wideout Steve Smith than nickel corner Torrie Cox and fellow cornerback Juran Bolden did – with the exception of Smith's fourth quarter touchdown, which may have been due more to poor safety coverage over the top.
