Free agent guard Eric Steinbach won’t be visiting One Buccaneer Place after all. That news came on Friday evening after Steinbach, who was scheduled to visit the Bucs on Saturday, reportedly signed a seven-year, $49.5 million contract with the Cleveland Browns.
Cincinnati Bengals free agent guard Eric Steinbach was scheduled to visit One Buccaneer Place Saturday, but the Cleveland Browns gave him approximately 49.5 million reasons not to make the trip.
According to several published reports, Steinbach capped off his visit with the Browns Friday by signing a seven-year, $49.5 million contract.
Steinbach, 26, was one of the bigger names on the free agent market. After his visit in Cleveland, Steinbach was scheduled to visit Tampa Bay and then Seattle.
Tampa Bay is still interested in signing several free agent offensive linemen, including tackles Luke Petitgout (New York Giants) and Jon Stinchcomb (New Orleans), and center Jeremy Newberry (San Francisco).
The Bucs are also attempting to re-sign offensive lineman Sean Mahan, who became an unrestricted free agent on Friday morning.
