The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have agreed to terms on a five-year deal with Denver Broncos free agent defensive end/linebacker Patrick Chukwurah.

Chukwurah, 27, is scheduled to officially sign his contract on Tuesday at One Buccaneer Place. He is first scheduled to attend the funeral of running back Damien Nash, who died suddenly last week after taking part in a charity basketball game. Nash's funeral is scheduled for Monday.

The 6-foot-1, 250-pound Chukwurah has played in 69 career games since entering the NFL out of Wyoming in 2001.

Chukwurah, who has eight career sacks, visited Tampa Bay as a free agent last offseason, but he eventually re-signed with the Broncos. Should he sign with the Buccaneers this time around, Chukwurah could conceivably play linebacker or defensive end for defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin, who hired former Broncos defensive coordinator Larry Coyer in January to serve as Tampa Bay's defensive line coach.

The Bucs consider Chukwurah a capable pass rusher and will use him as a situational pass rusher at defensive end. The Bucs are still interested in re-signing DE Dewayne White.
