The Bucs signed second-round draft pick, guard Arron Sears, to his rookie contract on Thursday evening. The 6-foot-3, 318-pound Sears missed Tampa Bay’s mandatory mini-camp with a knee injury, but he’s expected to be ready to go for training camp.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed second-round draft pick, guard Arron Sears, to his rookie contract on Thursday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Sears was the last of Tampa Bay's 10 draft picks to sign with the Bucs. First-round pick Gaines Adams and second-round selection Sabby Piscitelli signed with the team earlier in the day.

Sears, who started games at left tackle, left guard, right guard and right tackle at Tennessee, finished his collegiate career with 26 career starts at left tackle, six starts at right tackle, four starts at right guard and one start at left guard.

As a senior, Sears started all 13 games at left tackle instead of his more natural position at left guard. Not only did he play well, Sears managed to win the Jacobs Blocking Award, which is given annually to the SEC’s top offensive lineman. The 6-foot-3, 318-pound Sears also played for the South squad at Senior Bowl.

Sears missed Tampa Bay’s mandatory mini-camp in late June with a knee injury. However, the Bucs expect him to be ready to compete with Anthony Davis for the starting left guard job when training camp begins on July 27.
