With Tampa Bay scheduled to play its first preseason game of the year against the New England Patriots at Raymond James Stadium on Friday night, the Buccaneers released their official depth chart on Tuesday morning.

While there aren’t too many surprises, the Bucs do have a few noteworthy aspects regarding their depth chart.

*Second-year wide receiver Maurice Stovall is listed as the first-string Z (flanker) receiver ahead of Michael Clayton, a 2004 first-round draft pick.

*Although he's been receiving a limited amount of reps in practice, quarterback Chris Simms is listed as the team’s third-string quarterback behind Jeff Garcia and Luke McCown, and ahead of second-year QB Bruce Gradkowski.

*Rookie left guard Arron Sears is listed on the first-team offense ahead of Anthony Davis. However, Davis has been receiving first-team reps at left guard and left tackle due to the abscence of Luke Petitgout, who is nursing a back injury.

*Tampa Bay offensive lineman Dan Buenning is listed as the third-string center behind starter John Wade and Matt Lehr, who is running second-team offense.

*Bucs OL Donald Penn is listed as the second-string left tackle behind Luke Petitgout. But Anthony Davis has actually received a significant amount of first-team reps at left tackle in place of the injured Petitgout.

*Tampa Bay running backs Cadillac Williams, Michael Pittman, Earnest Graham, Kenneth Darby and Lionel Gates are listed as the first, second, third, fourth and fifth-string running backs, respectively.

*Patrick Chukwurah is listed as the first-string right defensive end ahead of rookie Gaines Adams.

*Ellis Wyms is listed as the second-string under tackle behind Jovan Haye.

*Second-year cornerback Alan Zemaitis is listed as the fourth-string cornerback ahead of Sammy Davis and behind Ronde Barber, Brian Kelly and Phillip Buchanon.
