The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed free agent fullback Zach Tuiasosopo on Monday. Tuiasosopo, who originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2005, has spent time with the Steelers, Raiders and Eagles.


 
Less than a week after placing six-time Pro Bowl fullback Mike Alstott on injured reserve with his second neck injury since 2003, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed free agent FB Zach Tuiasosopo to a contract on Monday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 6-foot-2, 245-pound Tuiasosopo originally entered the National Football League in 2005 as an undrafted free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The former Washington Husky has since spent time on several teams' practice squads, including Pittsburgh's and Oakland's.

In addition to spending time on those two teams' practice squads, Tuiasosopo spent the entire 2006 season on the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad before being released last month.
Zach Tuiasosopo is the younger brother of former Oakland Raiders and current New York Jets quarterback Marques Tuiasosopo.

The Bucs have three fullbacks -- Tuiasosopo, B.J. Askew and Byron Storer -- on their current roster. However, Bucs running backs Michael Pittman and Earnest Graham have also been used as situational fullbacks in head coach Jon Gruden's offense.
