Former Atlanta Falcons running back Warrick Dunn spent Monday visiting with Tampa Bay at One Buccaneer Place. Dunn, who spent five seasons (1997-01) with the Bucs, was recently released by the Falcons.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers spent a good portion of Monday courting familiar faces.

Shortly after news broke that Tampa Bay had traded for Chicago Bears quarterback Brian Griese, who played in Tampa from 2004-05, agent Jim Steiner informed PewterReport.com that former Atlanta Falcons running back Warrick Dunn spent Monday visiting with the Buccaneers at One Buccaneer Place.

A former first-round draft pick out of Florida State in 1997, Dunn spent the first five seasons of his career with the Buccaneers.

The 5-foot-9, 180-pound Dunn rushed for 4,200 yards and 17 touchdowns and caught 259 passes for 2,374 yards and nine touchdowns before ending his five-year tenure in Tampa Bay to sign with Atlanta as a free agent during the 2002 offseason.

Dunn has rushed 2,483 times for 10,181 yards (4.1 avg.) and 47 touchdowns during his 11-year career. He has also established himself as a dangerous receiver, catching 463 career passes for 4,009 yards (8.7 avg.) and 15 touchdowns.

Last season, Dunn rushed 227 times for 720 yards (3.2 avg.) and scored four times while catching 37 passes for 238 yards in what amounted to a controversial and disappointing season for the 4-12 Falcons.

Dunn asked for his release after the Falcons signed San Diego free agent RB Michael Turner over the weekend, and that wish was granted on Monday.

Tampa Bay currently has three veteran running backs - Earnest Graham, Michael Bennett and Cadillac Williams -- under contract for the 2008 season.

However, Williams sustained a torn patellar tendon in Week 4 of last season and the Bucs may not have his services for the upcoming season due to the long rehab associated with such a severe knee injury.

Bring him back. I like the fit with what we have in the backfield. I also like griese coming back as a back up to Garcia. Give us stability, know quantities, people who want to be here any day over the Prima Donna's in this league.

Now it's time to get some receivers who can get open and catch the ball. Sound running game opens up the passing game. With our defense that will be a good combination.

GO BUCS!!!!!!!!!!!

Have him take off 15 pounds and he can be a Receiver, and an effective one despite his size and age. There are options by taking Dunn. My guess he will sign with Dungy as a backup.
