The Tampa Bay Buccaneers visited with Kansas City Chiefs free agent fullback Kris Wilson at One Buccaneer Place last Wednesday. If signed, the 6-foot-2, 251-pound Wilson would give the Bucs depth at the fullback position and another option at tight end, which is the position the former second-round pick played in college.

With Mike Alstott retiring and B.J. Askew entering the final year of his contract, the Buccaneers are looking to add competition and depth to the fullback position.

PewterReport.com is reporting that Tampa Bay visited with Kansas City free agent fullback Kris Wilson at One Buccaneer Place last Wednesday.

The 6-foot-2, 251-pound Wilson has hauled in 42 passes for 345 yards (8.2 avg.) and four touchdowns in 46 career games. While he has carried the ball just four times for 13 yards, Wilson has played an integral role in helping to lead block for Chiefs Pro Bowl running back Larry Johnson.

Last season, Wilson caught a career-high 24 passes for 180 yards (7.5 avg.) and one touchdown.

A 2004 second-round draft pick, Wilson played collegiatley at Pittsburgh. If signed by Tampa Bay, Wilson would give the Bucs the competition and depth the Bucs are looking for at fullback.

He could also factor into Tampa Bay's plans at tight end, which is the position Wilson played at Pittsburgh before being moved to fullback in the NFL.

Maybe you see something I don't. All his stats point to the TE position. Virtually no FB stats, certainly not rushing..

In college it was 100% receiving as a TE.

Where does the FB position come from?
Or is that where the Bucs are going to use him.

In Pro Football Reference he is listed as a TE.

You may be right, but what stats were you expecting to see for a Fullback?
