Florida Gators wide receiver Andre Caldwell will make a pre-draft visit with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday. Andre Caldwell, who is the younger brother of St. Louis Rams WR Reche Caldwell, posted an impressive 4.35 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine in February.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers appear to be in the market for a wide receiver in the 2008 NFL Draft.

One of the players on Tampa Bay's radar is Florida Gators' WR Andre Caldwell, who recorded an impressive 4.35 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine in February.

The 6-foot-, 204-pound Caldwell notched 185 catches for 2,349 yards (12.7 avg.) and 16 touchdowns in 53 games (35 starts) at Florida, which won a national championship in 2006.

Andre Caldwell, who is the younger brother of St. Louis Rams WR Reche Caldwell, hauled in a career-high 56 passes for 761 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior.

Each NFL team is allowed to have 30 pre-draft visits with players each year. However, since Caldwell graduated from Jefferson High School in Tampa, Fla. he is considered a local player and does not count toward Tampa Bay's list of 30.

The Bucs have several veteran receivers, including Joey Galloway, Ike Hilliard, Michael Clayton, Maurice Stovall, Antonio Bryant and Paris Warren, under contract for the 2008 season.

Tampa Bay owns the 20th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, which will be held April 26-27.

Caldwell is probably one of the most toolsy WRs in the draft. He was born to be a WR. He has the size (6' 200), 4.3 speed, can stop/cut on a dime, soft hands, very gifted athlete, serious leaping skills, and the cockiness that comes with being a star WR.

I hate UF, but have followed Caldwell since high school. He wouldve had a break out year for UF if he didnt break his leg in the beginning of his junior year. He had to sit out his junior year, and then faced an uphill fight to take the ball out of the hands of all the other great UF WRs in 2006/2007

One could argue that he never stepped up to the plate when he came back from his leg injury, but I think it had more to do with bad breaks at the worst times and no real opportunities to be 'the guy' in a spread offense

I think he should be better than his brother, Reche Caldwell

I am a die hard Gator fan, and respectfully disagree with your assessment on Caldwell. Although he has great speed, he has below average hands, and is scared of contact.

There is a good reason why Urban went to a true sophomore (Percy Harvin) over a fifth year senior (Caldwell).
