Tampa Bay linebacker Cato June had a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence against him dropped on Monday. The charge stemmed from June's arrest in Tampa on Nov. 19.

Buccaneers linebacker Cato June was cleared of a misdemeanor driving under the influence charge against him on Monday after an apparent lack of evidence, according to multiple published reports.

June, 28, was arrested in Tampa on Nov. 19 after a Tampa police officer's radar clocked June's 2005 blue Cadillac sports utility vehicle at 66 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone between Osborne Avenue and North Dale Mabry Highway at 2:52 a.m.

The officer claimed he detected the smell of alcohol on June's breath and that June had bloodshot and glassy eyes. A field sobriety test was administered and the officer claimed June "exhibited clues of impairment."

However, June refused to take a breathalyzer test and was booked at the Orient Road Jail in the early hours of Nov. 19.

While he could still have his license suspended for refusing to take a breathalyzer test, June's DUI charge has been dismissed, which means he's unlikely to face discipline from the National Football League or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

June signed a three-year contract with the Bucs during the 2007 offseason. He finished the regular season ranked third on the team in tackles with 120.

However, June missed Tampa Bay's playoff game vs. the New York Giants due to a broke foot he sustained in the regular season finale vs. Carolina.  He still is in the process of rehabilitating that injury but should be 100 percent healthy by the time training camp begins in July.
