WR Jackson Sidelined In Practice |

Bucs WR Dexter Jackson was extremely limited during Saturday's rookie mini-camp practice. Neither Jackson nor the Bucs disclosed Jackson's mystery ailment, but head coach Jon Gruden said the second-round pick would be 100 percent ready to go for the Bucs' OTA on May 16.
All 54 players made it back out onto the football field for Tampa Bay's second rookie mini-camp practice at One Buccaneer Place on Saturday afternoon.
However, Bucs rookie wide receiver Dexter Jackson was extremely limited on Saturday, participating in stretching and the first set of individual warm-ups before taking his helmet off and watching his fellow receivers run through the drills.
"I was just taking a lot of mental reps and learning the system today," said Jackson, who did not reveal much regarding why he was sidelined for most of Saturday's practice.
Jackson, who caught 110 passes for 1,846 yards (16.8 avg.) and 17 touchdowns in 55 games (25 starts) at Appalachian State, wasn't the only one that didn't want to talk much about his status.
Bucs head coach Jon Gruden wouldn't reveal Jackson's mystery ailment, but said the speedy receiver would be ready to participate when the Bucs hold their next set of organized team activities on May 16.
"He's not 100 percent ready," Gruden said of Jackson. "He'll be 100 percent when we return on May 16. We had a 60-play walk-thru this morning and he took the majority of those reps. He'll be fine and ready to go when we resume practice later this month.
"I don't want to talk about it. It's nothing serious. He's kind of embarrassed about it and I'm going to leave it at that."
Gruden was pleased with the overall effort and production from Saturday's practice. The Bucs will hold their third and final rookie mini-camp practice at One Buccaneer Place on Sunday morning.
"It was a good practice," said Gruden. "We are just getting guys acclimated to the system and the heat. We're making some friends and we're making some strides, but we've got a long way to go."

I'm not sure who should be more embarrassed. Dexter Jackson or our astute front office for trading down and getting this guy rather than taking Limas Sweed or Brian Brohm.
Good luck to everyone involved it looks like we're gonna need it.

Like I said before, Dexter you are not in Boone North Carolina. You are no longer one of the Big men On Campus at that very small school. (Been there ,own property close by and know how small the school is)
Get an Apartment in Tampa next week, learn the Playbook ,and get in NFL shape.
I hope this works out? At least he has a couple months to get it all together.
Go Bucs! This was a reach and it is just starting. I truely hope i am wrong!

Kid's not in shape yet. He will be, though. If he has the runs, no problem. I'd rather get a look at some other guys anyway, since he's guaranteed to make the team.

Holy Crapy! Two days of rookie walk throughs and the "Pro" scouts on these boards can make a determination about his career. Everytime I read a post by HORSE I feel like its secretly steve dumeg signing in to critisize. You are making mental evaluations about the kid from TCU based on your own life (completely no connection) and now because Dex Jack might have had Diaherra or some other illness he's a BUST AND A STRETCH. Bucs Caddy are you serious LIMAS SWEED? There was a reason everyone passed on this kid and it isn't because he's the next Randy Moss. How about we give the kid oh I don't know a chance to play in his first professional game let alone season before you label him anything. Start drinking gatorade because there seems to be to much Haterade going around Tampa these days.
