The Bucs agreed to terms on a contract with first-round draft pick, CB Aqib Talib on Friday as the Bucs began reporting to training camp. Talib was the 20th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. The Bucs and Dexter Jackson's agent for WR Dexter Jackson have made significant progress and a deal is said to be close.

Tampa Bay general manager Bruce Allen has never had a first-round pick hold out and not report to training camp on time.

Allen's streak remained intact on Friday when the Bucs agreed to terms on a contract with cornerback Aqib Talib.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

With first-round pick Aqib Talib agreeing to terms on his contract as well, second-round pick, wide receiver Dexter Jackson, is the only draft pick remains unsigned. However, the Bucs and Jackson's agent have made significant progress and a deal is said to be close.

In other news, Bucs rookie RB Cory Boyd (knee) did not pass his physical and will be waived injured or placed on IR.

Talib, an early-entry junior out of Kansas, was the 20th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. He was also the first cornerback the Bucs had selected in the first round of the draft since 1986.

Talib notched 13 interceptions, 43 passes defensed and 162 tackles in 34 games (32 starts) at Kansas.

As a junior, Talib notched 66 tackles and five interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns.

The 6-foot, 202-pound Talib is considered an exceptional athlete. In addition to recording a 38-inch vertical jump at the Combine, Talib was used sparingly as a wide receiver at Kansas, where he caught nine passes for 224 yards (24.9 avg.) and five touchdowns.

A consensus All-American and unanimous All-Big Twelve selection as a senior, Talib was the third cornerback selected in the 2008 NFL Draft behind Leodis McKelvin, who was the 11th overall pick for Buffalo and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, who went to Arizona with the 16th overall pick.

Talib is expected to compete with Phillip Buchanon for the right to start opposite of veteran CB Ronde Barber. Talib will also be competing with cornerbacks Eugene Wilson, Sammy Davis, Torrie Cox and Marcus Hamilton, among others.

What are you talking about Horse? I heard 5 years 14 mil with 8.5 guaranteed. At least it was something close to that. How do you turn every good move by the team into a bad thing?
