The Bucs and Dolphins will clash in Miami for both teams' preseason openers on Aug. 9 (Cliff Welch)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will clash with the Miami Dolphins at Dolphins Stadium on Saturday. It marks the 15th time in 16 seasons that the Bucs and Dolphins have played each other in the preseason. What happened the last time these two teams met? How did they fare last year? Pewter Report has a preview of Saturday's Bucs-Dolphins game.

LAST YEAR: The Miami Dolphins finished the 2007 regular season in last place in the AFC East division with a 1-15 record, the worst in the NFL.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers produced a 9-7 regular season record en route to winning the 2007 NFC South division title.

THE LAST TIME THESE TEAMS MET: The Buccaneers and the Dolphins last met on Aug. 25 of the 2007 preseason. The visiting Bucs escaped Miami with a 31-28 win over the hometown Dolphins.

BUCS-DOLPHINS SERIES:
The Buccaneers are 8-14 all-time in the preseason vs. their in-state rival, the Dolphins. Tampa Bay has compiled a 3-6 record vs. the Dolphins on the road. Saturday night's game will mark the 15th time in 16 seasons that the Bucs and Dolphins have faced each other in preseason.
