The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have expressed an interest in signing several free agents, including New Orleans WR Devery Henderson, Chicago S Brandon McGowan and Jacksonville T Khalif Barnes. However, none of these players are scheduled to visit the Bucs yet.

Tampa Bay still does not have visits lined up with free agents, although it did trade for Cleveland tight end Kellen Winslow on Friday morning. But PewterReport.com is reporting that the Bucs have expressed an interest in a number of free agents, including wide receiver Devery Henderson (New Orleans), safety Brandon McGowan (Chicago) and offensive tackle Khalif Barnes (Jacksonville).

Henderson, 26, was on Tampa Bay's radar last year before he re-signed with New Orleans for one season. He has started 32 games in his five-year career with the Saints, catching 106 passes for 2,290 yards (21.6 avg.) and 14 touchdowns.

In 2008, Henderson (5-11, 200) tied a single-season career-high with 32 catches for 793 yards (24.8 avg.) and three touchdowns. The speed and deep threat has received interest from five teams, but Henderson will not visit Tampa Bay due to the fact that he already visited with the team last year.

McGowan (5-11, 207), 25, started 13 games in four seasons with the Bears. He has two career interceptions, but has made his biggest impact on special teams.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is Barnes, who started 57 of the 60 games he played in with the Jaguars. Tampa Bay's starting offensive line was thought to be set with tackles Donald Penn and Jeremy Trueblood, guards Arron Sears and Davin Joseph and center Jeff Faine, but the Bucs are interested in the 6-foot-5, 325-pound Barnes, who is just 26.

The Bucs have also expressed an interest in Pittsburgh WR Nate Washington, Arizona defensive end Antonio Smith and New Orleans linebacker Jonathan Vilma. ProFootballTalk.com also reports that the Bucs are interested in Chicago running Kevin Jones.

Im wondering if the Bucs are hoping to get a starter at LT in order to move Penn and recoup some picks! While the line does have some continuity, they haven't play in this scheme, so a new guy may not mix it up too much!
