The Oakland Raiders are shopping running back Michael Bush, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are interested in trading for him. Bucs fans will remember Bush for his breakout game vs. Tampa Bay in Week 17 of the 2008 season when he rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made headlines Friday morning when it traded for Cleveland tight end Kellen Winslow, but that might not be the only trade the Bucs pull off this offseason.

Multiple league sources have told PewterReport.com that the Bucs are interested in acquiring Oakland running back Michael Bush via a trade. The Raiders have been shopping Bush around to several teams, not just the Bucs.

Tampa Bay is in the market for a running back after releasing RB Warrick Dunn on Thursday and because of the unknown future of former first-round pick Cadillac Williams, who is recovering from his second major knee injury in as many seasons.

Bush, 24, originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round draft pick out of Louisville. However, he is no stranger to knee injuries. Bush suffered a devastating one at Louisville and missed his entire rookie season with the Raiders because of it.

But Bush bounced back and proved to be healthy in 2008. He carried the ball 95 times for 421 yards (4.4 avg.) and three touchdowns behind Darren McFadden and Justin Fargas.

Bucs fans are all too familiar with Bush, who ripped off 177 rushing yards on 27 carries (6.6 avg.) and two touchdowns in Tampa Bay's season-ending loss to Oakland in 2008.

The 6-foot, 240-pound Bush has a nice blend of size and speed. He also has reliable hands as a receiver. He caught 19 passes for 162 yards in 2008.

Bush, who has two years remaining on his rookie contract, showed some versatility by playing some fullback for the Raiders in '08. He also has played in a zone blocking scheme, which is what new Bucs offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski is implementing in Tampa Bay.

pick6

i would love this pickup - graham and bush behind that line will just punish opponents, particularly at home - we can make opponents quit the way our defense did down the stretch.

I agree Pick6 but I'll miss how Dunn patiently waited for his blocks to develop, his acceleration, cutback ability and his instinctive knack to just run for daylight. I thought he had a more impressive year than his stats indicated. I've wanted a bigger back with a good burst for a couple of years but like Dunn's change of pace. I also don't want any more of our early picks traded in this year's draft....

I've read that the Raiders are very high on Bush and feel that a tandem of Bush and McFadden would more dangerous to defend (especially with either in the slot matched against a LB) and that it's only their head coach Cable who wants to clear house but mgt and almost every fan that's watched the Rai-duhs fee that Bush is much better than the Raider's other 2nd string RB Justin Fargas.

Most in Raider nation want the ex USC star Fargas to be the odd man out and feel the team should keep Bush and it's been rumoured that the team won't part with Bush cheap even though he only cost the Raiders a 4th rounder when they drafted him. Why sign Bush when the Raiders are gonna jack up the price and when Ward of the Giants is available without losing any of our picks?
