The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are starting to line up free agent visits at One Buccaneer Place.

Cincinnati Bengals free agent wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh is scheduled to visit the Buccaneers on Sunday, according to ESPN.

PewterReport.com's attempts to reach Houshmandzadeh's agent and the Buccaneers to confirm or deny this report were unsuccessful.

Houshmandzadeh, 31, has caught 507 catches for 5,782 yards (11.4 avg.) and 37 touchdowns during his eight-year career with Cincinnati.

But the 6-foot-1, 199-pound Houshmandzadeh isn't the only receiver the Bucs have expressed interest in signing since free agency began on Friday morning.

The Bucs are also interested in Steelers free agent WR Nate Washington and Saints free agent WR Devery Henderson. PewterReport.com hasn't been able to confirm a visit for either player. The Bucs are also interested in re-signing WR Michael Clayton, who has received interest from Detroit and Seattle.

Houshmandzadeh has drawn interest from several teams, including Detroit, Seattle, Minnesota and Philadelphia.

As PewterReport.com first reported, the Bucs spent part of Saturday visiting with Raiders free agent guard Cooper Carlisle.

Thats great sign him dont let him leave for philly then we will be set at WR and TE but ill hold my breath on the owners that we have spending money every thing so far they have came up short sucks so far hopefully they have a plan that includes signing some good players oh and how about Rocky Bernard go Bucs!

Call me crazy, but I have a good feeling about Housh's visit. Having him alongside Bryant would be very exciting. Especially since we're going vertical with our offense. Not only that but I think Housh being there would help Bryant maximize his potential. That would give us three solid receiving threats on offense. With us having come up short on Haynesworth and Vilma we need a big signing to really excite the fans. Lord knows we have the money!

I like Who's ur mama, but would it really be smart to get a 31 year old reciever right now? It just kinda seems like we are getting mixed messages. Are we rebuilding? or are we making a SB run this year? If we don't think we can make a SB run....then why spend money on a 31 year old reciever? and why did we cut 90% of the guys over 30 on our team if we are just gonna go out sign more?

Honestly, I think we'd better off signing Henderson. or Washington and possibly resigning Clayton.

This is encouraging news. Let's bring in more FAs for more visits... perhaps defensive prospects too!

Hopefully we can woo T.J. into signing with us before he gets back on a plane.

Rocky Bernard just signed with the NY Giants who signed LB Michael Boley earlier. NYG is currently talking to DE C Canty. All three were on the Bucs board (at one time). All three would meet needs for the Bucs & their new D. None of the three even came to TB for a visit (unless Canty still does). Antonio Smith went off the board earlier to the Texans.

Housh was somewhat of a late bloomer and I think he has enough gas in the tank for at least three more solid years. His stats were screwed in 2008 when Palmer went down for the year. But even with a below average Fitzpatrick throwing to him he managed a fairly respectable season. With Bryant across from him and Winslow at TE, defenses would have their hands full. If he leaves Minnesota tonight, we should pull the trigger tomorrow. GO BUCS!!!!!!!

This sucks now. Apparently this idea of Housh visiting Tampa is a rumor with no credibility. According to TBO.com, "a stop in Tampa is not on the wide receiver’s itinerary". For us to squander this much cap room would be sickening.

Well that blows all of the top free agents on DEFENSE are gone and we got none. Not even a visit hope we can land TJ we will need to score alot of points with what are D is going to look like if they dont find away to upgrade the d line some how some way.

I hope this works out but TJ is a west coast guy and I doubt he would sign here especially with the ???????'s at the QB position.

what i don't understand is how we didn't get Cutler if we were offering a 1st round pick that would have gone to the Patriots? They ended up trading a Cassel and Vrabel for a 2nd.

I'd rather have Devry Henderson, and use him as our deep threat.

There aren't enough balls in a game to get all those touches...think about it Graham20-25 carries a game->Bryant 83 catches this year->Winslow usually gets up in the 80's and 90's-> Housh gets the most in the NFL w/ about 119 I think...

That's a lot of freakin' balls...At least one of them would be very unhappy about a huge drop in their productivity; 20 or 30 less grabs would be huge. The last time I checked Jags didn't say we were going to be running a high flying Kurt Warner-esque offense.

I really wish they would have gotten Cutler, then we would have been in business.

ESPN just reported Housh would make his decision today w/ one of three teams: Seahwaks, Vikes, and Bengals...guess One Buc Place dropped the ball. . .

Seattle was an option for Clayton? He makes more here saving on relocation and taxes. Still cannot catch, but hey it's a camp body! 3-13 And all that cap room to pay off Man U! Win-win

Wonder how long the wait list is now. Friends in the U.K. say it is just as bad over their! I don't hate the Glazers, but they are business people and cash is king...why not consereve it!

we need to reel him in and sign him for what he is worth. he is over 30 so a three year deal with a fourth option and pay him nicely. this would do wonders for our offense. SIGN HIM!
